Free new tank general as a final reward? I Hope so😂 Probably we get Infantry and Artillery generals first. And a Tank general as a final reward of Modern War Challenge conquests

In order to not get swallowed by the endless opportunities for grinding, we really need to set own targets for "good enough" generals and elite unit levels. For example, now i only farm medals (but not restarting Barbarossa) and elite force fragment from the events. For ribbons, since i already have 3 lvl 5 ribbons for Tanks and arty, i wont force myself to much to do Doom Warzone.

Not bad, my limit was 1x lv4 tank and lv3 for every thing else back then. Now, thanks to the occasional ribbon rewards from events and achievements, I have a few more lv4 ones and I don't see the necessity to grind war zone any more. The gain/pain ratio for lv5 is just too bad imo With elite forces I haven't made up my mind yet, but there are only so many we can build during any given scenario and we're losing turns by waiting for resources to recruit these units and holding back generals to deploy on them. And the increasing level up requirements in combination with the low and random acquisition rate make it seem like there's (almost) no progress at all. I've not gained a single level for T44, priest, pershing after their lv5 cap was lifted.

I have one and zero, respectively, lol.

I'm barely scraping one or two lvl 4 red ribbons due to how common they are, and the lack of earlier engagement.
How many gens for a F2P player? I'm at 17 or 18, I think, and this is before Darlan and Chennault, or Arnold / Yamamoto.
GC:S takes up time because I refuse to spam gens early on, especially in Challenge mode (imagine deploying Yamashita on a 2× or 1× light inf unit or one's third best tank gen on a 1× armoured car, the horror!). I'm fairly sure all these Challenges is challenging my ability to cope.
I want combat medic, Skytrain, and the Priest to be the focus. The first for obvious reasons, the Skytrain is the best tactical tool especially in Challenge mode for challenges, and the third because it is the first 2-hex elite arty unit. Sadly, Medic and Skytrain are fairly neglected.

Medic, HMS, and Skytrain lvl. 4 all from scrapping fragment and reward.

You are right, doom is just to tiring, must switch medal and ribbon, so now im focusing on ashes, to grind some naval red. Elite was almost stuck at lvl 6, how can we achieve 9? 🥲

Some of these elite forces have a dubious background anyway. Like Prince of Wales. It was actually sunk after less than a year of actual service during infamous defense of Singapore. And it wasn't a glorious "last stand" or something of the sort. It was just spotted and sunk by Japanese Aircraft. But the progression of fragments needed for each new level is discouraging indeed.

To be fair to ET, it's hard to think of good battleships to use in WWII since this was when aircraft carriers became the new rulers of the sea. In fact, it was the sinking of the Prince of Wales and Repulse that illustrated that fact very well. But, there's definitely Royal Navy ships that had a more glamorous service record, like Rodney who sank the Bismarck, or even Prince's sister ship King George V who also participated in the sinking of the Bismarck. As for fragments, ahh, it's so hard to get! Maxing any of the elite forces is a dream to me, let alone all of them.

And it is just lvl 4 upgrade! Insane 😡
