How do you beat Battle of Magenta on the second scenario of the Roman Unification Campaign? When I capture a city, a whole wave of reinforcement would overwhelm me. Please help

Hello I am also struggling to beat this mission, do I join my Turin forces with the French and try to hold on to my southern city for as long as possible or attack in the middle? By turn 5 or so I am completely overwhelmed by the enemy reinforcements regardless of what I have tried? Are there friendly reinforcements? Do the Ottomens join in after killing or capturing a certain city? Even the French get beaten quite quickly...

I too have problems finishing this with 3 stars. Best strategy I have so far is to destroy milan fast, take venice and hold. Rudolt doesn't attack until turn 10 and I can't kill him fast enough in 4 turns (spam in the way). I still have few more ideas to try - like abandoning the south city or turn turin in the fort-hold with Louise (i suspect it could do the trick)

Ok, the strategy that works is to take Milan very fast (2nd or 3rd turn).
Put Louise III in the palace in Milan. Keep Garibaldi in the temple to destroy all the spam. In Turin I put Maria to keep spamming heavies and lancers. In the south i placed a fort on the shore to help with Tegethoff and less space to be attacked.
Everything else is obvious and keep fighting in Louise range and keep garibaldi as healthy as you can. Once rudolf comes around turn 9-10 (he would be the last goal left) just rush him.

How does one do this? I can’t even take Venice. Could someone please give me tips? Florence can be held with one line inf per turn until Milan falls and aid is provided. Also, build a university in Florence. Send everyone to take Milan. Deploy the 25% inf discount princess in Turin. Once Milan falls, there will be two to three waves of enemy reinforcements from Munich and west of Vienna headed towards Milan. Plus, enemy amphibious troops will appear south of Turin and east of Florence. Spam militia and raise one heavy cav unit for your 2nd cav gen in Turin. Send your heavy arty gen to blast those attacking Turin. Inf gens (starting Garibaldi and grenadier gen) to reinforce Florence. The rest will support defensive operations or hold Milan. Once the SW attackers are cleared, spam light inf in Turin to hold Milan. You should have enough money to raise one special Italian force in Turin instead of light inf. Do it and deploy your 2nd inf gen. Clear out the cav units around Florence and hit Venice. Venice's fall triggers the appearance of amphibious troops east of Florence. Create tactics, especially poison for Rudolf, in Venice. Stop spamming inf in Turin and start spamming light arty in Florence. Surround and defeat Benedek. Your arty gens can help with this before sending them to the Adriatic. Once your surrounding enemies are cleared, advance towards Vienna in force. Either Rudolf leaves because of this or he will move as scripted during Turn 10. Surround and destroy him
Gens used: Massena (grenadiers) Karl (spawned Italian special forces) Murat (musket cav) Dabrowski (spawned heavy cav) Mehmed (rocket arty) Alexander (heavy arty) All gens at Marshall rank and max nobility.
