Hmm other than relying on rumour damage is vital too, the longer you spend defeating one enemy general the more chances the enemy can get to nuke you, deal more damage and defeat the enemy generals, the less likely your generals will get nuked to death. Terrorists don't use nukes that much, besides Rumor reduces enemies' defense as well, and last (but not least  ) it is a pleasure to attack those monsters without retaliation... In my team more than half of my generals had Rumor. Other players here (who completed the game) used Rumor virtually with every general they had. Actually I don't know anyone who completed the game with 3 golden stars for Modern war (hard) missions who completely abandoned Rumor. got nuked thrice in the first mission  |

Lol konev died in the second nuke, however at least I still had Nimitz(no one bothered about him), rommel at 30 health and guderian at about 100 hp, and they both got wiped out in the third turn, had to win the game using missile hopping

I thought the AI nukes on certain turns and it should be fine as long as you are not too slow

Now I have 7 generals, Bock (best hybrid), Vatutin (best bait), Konev (best artillery), Guardian (best main attacker), Nimitz (best rubber ducky), Rommel (best sady boi or fake Guardan), and Zang. Z. Z. (best pue pue, or fake Konev). What should I get next?

You can also get Kuznetsov as an additional naval general. But also keep in mind that infantry is not the best at end game. Buying another general like Leeb or Rokossovsky would also be smart. |

If you are trying to complete the game don’t get an inf gen yet, it will be completely useless.
And you have Vatutin so you don’t need Rokko. 4 tank gens means a lot of them will get retaliated unless you put blitzkreig on them (which is really expensive), so 3 tank 2 arty 1 navy is better.
There’s a 6 gen cap in modern war campaigns, so it would be better to go for quality than quantity (that is, start upgrading them). See how far you get first.
