Similar to what Erich von Manstein , did in WC3 and Hyena did in WC4. I going to do one for ew6. So thanks to many people like @netherfreekand Friedrich “Fried Rice” Paulus to give many opinion about the skills so let's begin the analysis  Here is how i rank for each skill S:best skill if you are buying gens these skill are a must into your situation.A:good skill but have some flaw due to situation
B:a skill that needed improvement to go A or S
C:mediocore but still okay to have on gens
D.useless skill too weak.1.alert
Reduce damage from far away by5/10/15/20/25%
Ggood skill if you can manage and plan the situation well but most of time you are using infantry like milta to defend and Calvary to attack. Rarely artillery or navy unless certain circumstances but still good skill after all Good gens to have with this skill:sophia macmachon sukurako and morilo

I think this skill decrease damage from arti and navy, ignore the distance, so it's really good skill. I checked with Sakurako and Nelson (both at Emperor and max unit upgrade) in Sardinia 1798 attacking Villeneuve and get retaliation (no range between them). Sakurako got 45 damage and Nelson got 57 damage (average, no critical and 20 times). |

2.Inspiration
12/14/16/18/20% chances of morale up after attacking Yet another skill that fall off the A rank for a simple reason, the chance of activating this skill is simply too low. Except that this skill is excellent, it prevent demoralisation and the morale boast your gens damage quite a bit.

Almost equals to 33% additional health(unless you are facing a group of non-British clippers). |

Agree, but sadly only for navy most of time and navy is not much important in this game unless you are in British empire or Crimean war

3. Counterattack5/7/10/15/20 damage when fighting back
 If opponent hit you, you hit them back harder but sadly in EW6, once you reach half health, your damage is severely decrease and if you are unlucky, when navy(frigate and above) or artillery hit you directly, you can't attack back. Lasty the attack power is a bit low

12/14/16/18/20% chances of second chance of attacking again [/url] Personally I do not want to risk my gen on 20% chances and cannot s/l. But if you get it , you can deal massive damage.Hence this skill for those who are aggressive and gambler : AThose who play defensive:B

5.helmsman
In sea operations there is 6/7/8/9/10%chance of reducing damage by 50%
Well this skill is basically cover in WC4 or defensive tactics in WC3. But worse than both .why?1.low chances of activating, 2. Only 50% reduction and 3. Only on sea. But still good skill for navy.

10/20/30/40/50% more damage when fighting in sea.

Why would you use general to fight in sea? and in order to counter the military carrier debuff, you need to level up your salior at least a 3 or 4! Which is waste of medal. Lastly if you are fighting against frigate or ship of line. Bye my lovely general.

Desert and mountain fighting
Incrase attack by 5/10/15/20/25/30%when fighting on mountain or desert.  Is always good to have increased damage on terrains. But mountain and desert are quite rare to find.
