Alright, I think the Imperial fleet roster is complete (check page 1 and 2 of the thread). Now, what should we talk next?

I would like to share this video with you guys. Eck explains perfectly how Empire at War survived through the help of the modding community, and also explains how a game can gain a lot of popularity through the creation of mods (in our case, Star Wars mods).
Timestamp for the argument (if you do not want to watch the whole thing) is at 4:23. Anyway, he explains much better than I could the message. I hope this will reach as many people as possible.

EA? They will never stop being money minded haha I think you may have not got the point. First of all, replace EA with EasyTech. Second, the part that actually mattered from the video in our case was that mods have managed to make games more popular, especially if they allowed for Star Wars themed mods. From here, we can get the following conclusions: - ET should get their hands in doing one such game, or at least give us the chance or tools for doing (if they can't or are too lazy) - a Star Wars mod or game would skyrocket the fame of this company, especially since the range the Star Wars games in the past 6 years has been incredibly limited, and an actual strategy/army management game (Star Wars Commander also exists, but doesn't count as it is just a Clash of Clans clone with SW skin) does not exists and has kit been released ever since Empire at War back in 2006

And believe me, that is going to cost a lot, both financially and legally. Its a huge investment, and the reason why there are so few games about Star Wars out there is that not many are willing to risk losing out big and even potentially ruining their company in a high-risk contract. 2) Chinese company. I would believe even as China enters into the 21st Century, and encourages its modernization of both its economy and its society, but I will not think that they would be willing to venture into interpreting and commodifying this iconic Western cultural brand. 3) ET has evolved over the years, you can observe their cautious experimentation both with medieval, historical games and general entertainment like the watershed of Parking Stars, where from then on ET's unique mantra has always been bringing various historical games to the globe. To add star wars, albeit fresh and daring, will not be a likely move since they have already set up this unique and inseparable label and trademark. The GOG, WC and EW series will be enough for their goals. 4) Then again, EA is an American video game company, featuring a variety of games from FPS, strategy, sports and blockbuster films (they are the gaming company that handles many movie games like Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and even the legendary Simpsons TV series). Thus it would be their norm to freely experiment without many restrictions. All in all, ET might indeed appear to be making a strategic move by cashing in on this lucrative brand, but it would be unlikely that they would deviate from their norm and focus on a new Star Wars game (series). Regarding your suggestion on ET's help, they would not want to divulge too many operational secrets since that is clearly quite foolish for a market competitor. However, I feel that if a strong player base were to push for a more significant modding community, and bring the case to ET, they will be more than willing to give us a few pointers along the way, but nothing too major or drastic.

Alright, I understand. But at least we should make some Mods though. Perhaps this could somehow revive the modding community for ET games, since many popular strategy games have at least one Star Wars mod, and I think our community kinda went silent when talking about the quantity and/or quality of mods. Most of the important Mods have been recently released outside of this community, while this forum doesn't look to have any other grand modding project these days due to either a lack of veteran modders or just a lack of interest/curiosity.

There are several vigilante modders but alas they are rather small scale and modding for private interests. As you said, if we could consolidate everyone into one big project, we can have the potential to achieve something monumental
