Building skills set is a big investment. You need 4 scrolls for lvl 3 and 6 scrolls for lvl 4. So it costs 585 medals for each highest class skills (like plain fighting and commander for land type). Just keep commander no skill atm is my opinion I have just realized that building an ideal hybrid isn't possible. We have only 44 CP for our free general. And to max out one ability we need 26 points. So we can't max out even 2 abilities... It sucks. In that case we probably need to specialize him.

I already said about limit of 44 pts somewhere in this forum. That's the reason why I didn't use any CP for my commander now.

I remember, I just can't understand how exactly You upgraded him to max without investing. To earn CP You need to fight. And fighting with a gen who has no points in anything.. well, it is kind of a self-torture.

I see no point to withstand from upgrading, though... I think 5000 gold is a laughable sum even in the middle-game...

Is skills resetting a separate option?

Well, I think it is still possible if we are satisfied with lvl 7-8 skills.

5000 gold for reset CP only. The skills will be lost if you change / remove them, you don't need to pay anything to change skills, just lost your scroll for upgrading them. About grinding level, I see that no need to kill unit for exp, when your unit deal damage, the exp increase. Just auto play until my commander reach max lvl (Of course I use auto click to make it overnight)

Counterattack + Hide would be two great skills to put on him because the flag you get early on boosts both. As no other generals have those skills side by side, that would be a great build early on. The other skill you could him is intercept. That way you are built more or less towards completing missions but also your general is built towards the strength of infantry, which is counterattacking and killing archers. Is it expensive to change his skills later? As long as they aren’t too high level, you just use up one scroll.

Counter Attack, Hide, Plain Fighting, and March would be a great hybrid build early on for any unit. You lose about 15-45 medals changing the skills, so really not much. But remember that you can reset capability points later on in the game (for 5000 gold), so really you can build him however you want.
