I figured it would be best to create a poll for this topic.

I figured it would be best to create a poll for this topic. Archery navy hybrid with archery skills. Because archery has the least good gens and navy is always useful

I would say infantry early to mid game and then archer once you hit late game. Unless you have 2 infantry generals. Nearly all the stages in campaign have 2 strong infantry legion which you can use. Archer legion wise, normally only one will be provided. This will be given to Mithridates. Assigning him to the weaker infantry also allows him to travel back to the city to replenish etc
Endgame, the free commander might be better as a archer as he makes up for the archer legion limited mobility

Infantry just because there’s not too many cheap good infantry generals.

Infantry just because there’s not too many cheap good infantry generals. Yeah, but for the best possible deck you need to change him mid/late game for archery.

Pros: Cavalry: hits hard, high mobility, all around great Infantry: easy to build, can be deployed easily, effective immediately Archer : Hits like a nuke, enemy can't retaliate, okay mobility
Cons: Cavalry : takes a while to become effective, can take a while to deploy if no cavalry is lying around Infantry : Might be redudant due to the number of good infantry gens Archer : Vulnerable and gets easily destroyed when hit
I chose the Archer route and my general hits hard despite having lol lvl skills, and hits around 150, and can reach 250 when he crits, but he can easily be taken out(i've been surprised a lot of times to find him missing, with only fire on the ground, despite the fact that he's around 500 health the last time i saw him).
You can't go wrong really, but infantry would be best if you don't go IAP, so you can complete the campaigns more easily. You can swap out to cavalry or archer after you have decent infantry gens.
