This is my last recommendation: Shield Wall, Hide, Intercept, Counterattack. Its good because you will most likely have tons of hide and counterattack scrolls remaining, so you can dumb them into the free general. As his main job is the aura and he already has the +3 march ability, he’ll be quite a good defender. The only thing is that this game is not about defending, but attacking I agree, but infantry are just great at defending imo. Building upon their strengths of counterrattack would be smart. If you really wanted an offensive general Pf, Intercept, Infantry Leader, and Siege is really the most output you can get, so wouldn’t it be wiser to get a damage reducing skill instead of siege, like shield wall or ambush.

In fact, I think that counterattack might be a very good idea indeed. My Commander is attacked far more often, than he attacks himself. Perhaps, it is possible to exploit it...

I like that the skills in this game are so diverse, i feel like many builds are viable, different than in past games

After some deep contemplations I've decided that I won't buy Arminius (at least, in the near future). Therefore my Commander will be a cavalry general and Pacorus (I won't dismiss him) will be his substitution. When needed I will use my Commander as an Infantry general. I'm not yet sure about the value of Navy ability. But if we have a battle or two, I can spend 5000 gold to improve it.

That way you’ll be able to put him on tier 4 units

I think March or Siege would be better than Jungle fighting, but you do you Well, actually it was my first skill. I was just curious how to do it - without further investigations . My thought was: "Well, it can't be bad". And, well, I still think it can't be bad But probably I would take "counterattack" instead, if I knew the game better. It seems that our Commander is a very tempting target (I would even say primary) for many units on the battlefield. But jungle fighting is a good skill, there is nothing wrong with it.

It's not wrong . Flat 40 damage infantry is actually great, although i prefer being able to hit hard against city defenders

I thought it is against city fortifications only. Actually, taking into account the amount of HP of fortifications You will normally anyway need to hit is twice. There is a suspicion that lower tier cities can easily be cracked without Siege with the help of Ram, while high tier cities will anyway require two attacks.

Nah, it's city defense . It's just that the faster the city defense is gone, the more damage you'll deal to the defenders

Well my commander is upgraded as an infantry general, I’m stacking medals (I have 609 at the moment). I have Mithridates VI, Pacorus I, and Pompey as my generals, I’m thinking to buy Octavian for my Archer Commander, but then again I need to grind 36 medals to complete 645 medals for octavian. Can you give any tips? Like will I go for Vercigetorix instead and Change my general to archers for more mobility or just get Octavian and upgrade my general’s as real infantry gen that complements what Vercigetorix skills but with mobility? Thanks
