If you reset your free commander do you get the scrolls for skills back to use again? Resetting the abilities doesn't affects skills taken. Each skill is to be reset independently. Scrolls are not refunded.

Well you could get free scroll from campaigns though, but if your planing to change your commanders points then you should not make his skills higher than level one so that it will not put into waste

Just saw this thread (idk how I missed it for so long) and...
I'm quite shocked at how the results of this poll went. Where are my ridy boyz? 4 miserable votes?
Looking at stats, they hold the highest hp, solid damage, solid armor and highest mobility. Stats wise they are the best candidate for me.
Passive skill is really good too, 60% chance to reset upon killing a troop (troop, not legión, so easier to reset), allowing for several attacks on a same turn (grab for him the "not be counterattacked" and "chance to attack again" skills) makes it imo the best passive skill both for farming exp early on and for being a powerhouse late game. Cavalry scales by far the hardest when leveling hp (as youre capped on movement speed)
Archer is the only one I could consider after cavalry, infantry seems too spammable and common, and while a bonus in counterattacks is welcomed, I think it gets surpassed by the other two.
All 3 top tier troop (Javelineer, heavy cavalry and heavy infantry) have heavy armor which counters the most common type of damages,so here it is even.
Idk... I wouldve expected cavalry to win this poll with archers taking second place.

Some people use Hannibal, means in addition to great Antony and/or Arminius it will be very difficult to find 3rd cavalry unit for the Commander. As Cavalry is mainly elite, only really skillful and experienced players won't have problems with 3 cav generals in the team. Most will struggle to find the appropriate unit for the 3rd commander. Infantry as You mentioned is the easiest to use. Always available, can be used from the very first turn without wasting time. Archer votes are mainly because there are only 2 decent archer generals available.

andrei , dont no forget "The Elite Four" in the archer league : Octavian , Drusus (not have archer commander skill, but inspire and advantage can make drusus very useful and realiable with a really cheap price, Cleopatra (hybrid and decent archer) and Mithridates.

Indeed, if I were to buy an IAP, it would be Hannibal, which would probably made me redirect my focus for probably archer. But I am still a F2P player (which I will still be unless prices in my country get fixed), so nope I still have no skills attached to my general, so Im free to choose whatever & whenever still. I both want to get Hannibal (because he is OP af like I think I mentioned in Small changes thread) but dont want, as it will make my campaign too easy for a while (when now Im having to retry missions to achieve some or to grab 3 stars) But like people mentioned, archer hits hard but is weak, needs a barrack to restock troops else it may die which really stinks. As a F2P player, I insist I strongly believe cavalry is the best choice. If I were to buy Hannibal, I'll probably go archer route with navy as secondary (AKA Cleopatra v2)

I don't share opinion that Drusus is good enough It is just noone else to choose. We have Oration, rings so his talent is good, but not awesome. His only good skill is rare to trigger. I don't think he can compete.

It all comes down to the combinations of skills and what armor type your wearing (Africanus, etc)

Replace his talent and he becomes a tier 3 archer. Giving an Laurel Crown to Caesar or Mithridates pretty much makes them what Drusus could have been if he had better skills.
