Moving it a bit from physical beauty preferences to just aesthetically pleasing imagery. I received yesterday a graphic novel from the school reading club that got my attention. I am not sure about the original name, but it was translated as "Fantoma Aniei" (literally "Anya's ghost" if directly translated into English) by Vera Brosgol. It's kind of a short read (read it in like 1 or 1 and 1/2 hours), but I found it interesting, and a perfect reading when travelling. It's in that kind of "young-adult reads", but I really found some enjoyment in it (I'm 17, so it's technically targeted to people my age), and even brough me back the mood of reading, habit that I kinda lost due to school fatigue. But how does this connect to the initial idea? Well, I absolutely love the art style, and that is what initially brought me into buying it. The good part is that the story is also quite pleasing, and I was even able to relate to some of the situations the protagonist gets into. Anyway, here is a sample from the art work: What do you think? Sorry for the rather low resolution and bad lighting. Anyway, after reading this book, I am not sure anymore what I enjoyed more - the story or the protagonist.

Anyway, should we move the book talk on a different thread, or it's alright if we continue it here?

If so, then I could go a bit more into detail. First of all, I think it's one of the reads I enjoyed most this year, together with "Don Quijote", and probably the book that made come to get back into the habit of reading again. This raises a question though: is it a bad thing that I enjoyed a book that some could say is...you know, for girls? The things Anya goes through are quite relatable to mine, even if I am a boy (also I'm not a Russian immigrant, but I am a different kind of "immigrant", more exactly by moving into a new class this year at hightschool, with new colleagues, new teachers and new social realities, which still make me feel like a foreigner, oh and off course the problem of maturing/growing up, especially when you are like 17 or so). Also, she is a vety enjoyable character, while the supporting characters are good too (at least in my opinion). And for the cherry top, I also fell in love with the art style chosen. I just find something very special to it, and I like a lot the simplicity, or perhaps is just the characters' design which got me buy the book in the first place (basically came for the protagonist, remained for the Story as a whole), if it can be considered so. Anyway, is there any problem I like it quite a lot, or it's normal? Oh, and I can't help myself but think this image by Vera Brosgol is absolutely adorable

On the topic of things (or people) that emphasize the color blue, here's a drawing from 2002 (obviously not by me) that about ZERO PERCENT of you will probably recognize. This image explains why, during the EFC Sings poll (before it got rickrolled), I chose the 1990 decade. Specifically, the last year of it (I said as much). Also, I just happen to find this image (and the character herself) QUITE adorable. #obscureplaystationisobscure

Jeanne d'Arc , that's actually very interesting. Indeed, I haven't heard of ZERO PERCENT, and it's quite funny this drawing has the same age as me. Anyway, could you tell us a bit more about it? Looking a bit at your image, I can understand why you decided to choose it. And yes, blue is an interesting color, even if my favourite color is red. But I started to appreciate blue more in the past weeks, one of the reasons being Tari from SMG4 and Meta Runner (the image I decided to upload a few days ago)
