Why do so many artillery generals have tactic master? In 1804 only Maria had it. Probably to compensate that Aura is not as powerful as it was in 1806. Even when Aura Artillery wasn’t the best Aura. So this time, many have Tactics Master instead, which in my opinion is, for artillery, better than Aura.

The problem with Artillery aura this time is that one and only non-IAP general with aura is a trash.

I wouldn't use Milne if my life depends on it. Stoic will you play the game without purchasing items and generals? I intend to go hard this time☺

You use blast against big cities in EW6:1806 and then you impale the garrison with lancers. Blast was percentage based in 1806, which means that it was more effective against higher leveled cities. You used artillery on lv3-ish cities as cavalry generals could come close to one-shotting lv1 cities and two shotted lv2 cities. Not in this game though. Now we absolutely need to use artillery, but I wouldn’t use Milne.

In this game I feel like so far artillery is all that matters. The game doesn’t really give you any free arty generals tho. Besides maybe Hotzendorf I don’t think there’s many that stand out. Henry Horne is a very good artillery general that you can buy for just 15500 coins. You can literally get him before doing even the first tutorial mission. Edit: Oops, you need to reach a level of Chapter 2 first. Nevertheless, Horne is great.

Infantry isn't as good in this game against cities as it was in 1804 which means that you need artillery to be really good against cities.

Maxed Hotzendorf dishes out 60-90 damage to regular units not in cities and dishes up to 200 damage per attack on city defense

I definetly want Hötzendorf. You’re right that there aren’t many artillerymen that stand out. I’m not sure if Ivanov or Prince Leopold are worth considering. Hindenburg too. Hindenburg kinda worth it since his first 3 skills are amazing but his fourth skill is okay but you mostly get attack by infantry with Arty at least for me and last one great for defense missions

He is decent I agree, but I would even go radko dimitriev before hindenberg. He may be only duke but he will have a perfect skill set after 15 textbooks. Defense formation is not that amazing to sacrifice tactics master or a terrain bonus for. I do agree with the infantry bit. Mostly artillery is used against units without range and cities.
