RIP Ferdinand Foch and Reinhard Scheer. Also, if you have Petain, RIP Robert E. Lee To those who have Ludendorff, don’t buy Herbert Plumer. 5 textbooks to swap PF for MF are way cheaper than a considerable amount of medals + 15 textbooks. Note: This is only if you are aiming for a 2-2-2-2 lineup (Since we cannot spawn more than 8 generals, I prefer filling the first 8 slots with my main generals, then filling the rest with the History Mode generals)

Anyways 10-12 main generals is also ideal for substitute and rest history mode gens

I think one of the reasons why Austria has so many OP generals is because they're the main enemy in the last campaign. No idea why Benedek is so ridiculous though. I guess thats because austria last game= hell hard. Very well made by ET, being the final campaign, they anticipated that some players would've maxed out unit upgrades already but Italy was (kinda) terrible during the war. I had to upgrade generals to get past the blockade that was mission 4, but that's all.

So i have been looking, and it seems that stonewall and mclellen(sp?) Are the top two cav generals but i hate them both!!! Moltke has high BA and Joffrey and Steponovic are both "good" is it worth 15 books to make one of them better? Or do i just use stonewall..... any ideas about cav generals?

I don’t see why you would hate stonewall jackson. You give him strike and surprise and he will be the best cavarly general (rather than riding master and station) in the game. Joffre is absolutely terrible to tell the truth. All of his skills but edge are horrendous. He is as slow as a turtle and pretty weak as well. Stepanovic also has only 2 good skills. But that is more than can be said about joffre. Plummer, and Sidney johnson are also amazing. Johnson starts off as stepanovic with edge and you can customize him to be way better with 15 textbooks. Plummer is aura. If you give him strike and surprise, he will be very strong. Moltke is also a good starter. Whatever you do, do not get joffre! He is absolutely terrible

Or give stonewall or plumber precision strike. I dont want to waste my books though. Unrelated, the new infantry guy Staunenburg is awesome!!! Him and haig seal up those spots.

That does sound like the best course of action imo. You could also get sidney and make him your aura. Plummer and sidney are essentially the same. I do agree, Stonewall Jackson did have an especially long beard. Yes I agree, straussenberg is a fantastic addition. And no you would not be wasting textbooks on plummer or stonewall. Stonewall is the best general in the game even when compared to ludendorf. He deserves to have 15 textbooks invested into him. With plummer, the same also applies.

Thanks for the help!! 15 textbooks feels like a lot....but if it is worth it! many good generals need at least 2 skills swapped... you have to get used to that Thankfully textbooks are one of the easiest items to farm in the game

vorlian, whatever you do, don’t bother with generals that require 3 skill changes or more.

He's undoubtably great ingame and IRL, but Stonewall Jacksons hat looks dumb and he looks like a barbarian.

Thanks for the help!! 15 textbooks feels like a lot....but if it is worth it! It is. There are many generals that only need 5 textbooks or non at all: moltke, ivanov, besseler, straussenberg, and beatty for example. But a strong cavarly like jackson is essential to winning the game

vorlian, whatever you do, don’t bother with generals that require 3 skill changes or more. By 3 requiring meaning that they need 3 essential skills to be added on. For example, with leopold, you cannot give him jungle, mountain, and tactics master, making him inferior to even radko dimitriev. But for example in the case of stepanovic or hindenberg, even though 3 skill changes are needed to make them perfect, doesn’t mean they are a bad buy.
