Buy navy gen later. For now, buy a cav gen as it also helps you in the campaign.

Is Straubenberg a good gen to have? Yep, he's very capable of performing well on plains, plus infantry commander is a good skill on him. Pairing him up with Boroevic, with jungle and mountain fighting, is a good combination

Is Straubenberg a good gen to have? I found the only inf needed is McMahon in gold/purple due to history. Add low tier inf useful in history modes, McArthur, Falkenhausen, Esperey, Ruzsky, Carol, Bojovic. All can be serviceable and should be given a bit of experience.

To me McMahon doesn’t look that good.

He could be a defensive gen.

To me McMahon doesn’t look that good. If you are using petain, yes. But if you are not, he is really reliable in history mode.

Oh,I was just looking at stats and skills. When you have excess medals and need more firepower for the French history missions, Macmahon's the one, especially if you don't have Petain. According to the views and experiences of other members, that is. Overall, Straußenburg makes for a good inf commander and quite an appealing choice. It's a pity that there's more or less no chance to use him in history mode.

To me McMahon doesn’t look that good. He has a 5/5 potential skill set with 2 textbook changes (cover and counter for two other skills) making him a uniquely strong general, only other gauranteed example is Macmahon. And that’s without mentioning his history mode importance. Give him pierce and tactics master (for counter and cover), and you’ll see that he’ll be pretty good.

I gave him tactic master and infantry master. Is that okay?
