I can’t thank dagonithtr enough. This list killed some myths that we were believing. |

Definitely, counterattack is somewhat lame when compared to terrain bonus. However it isn't necessarily a forced option. If someone has a terrain bonus plus counterattack he will be really great in defence. So, I would rather replace bonus vs. Infantry. I have enough Infantry killers and I can sacrifice this skill without any grieve consequences. |

Well, if their other skills are Precision Strike, Riding Master and Surprise Attack, then yes, I would pick Counterattack. And no, if they had Forest Fighting I would replace it with Plain. I don’t like having to micromanage my generals and deliberately go to forest titles. |
