However, my other mobile device (I think phones are too small for this) was recently returned to me by the people I'd sent it for fixing - with the screen destroyed.  |

I only play on my phone. I am going blind. know your pain so good. I played also all the time on a much too small telephone. Since two weeks I have a small no-name tablet - the difference is incredible! EW4 dosen't require a powerfull device and compare to a telephone, tablets are cheaper and bigger. Now can see the game. This is so much better - wow. If you find a cheap tablet try it: Every device with andoid 8++ is far strong enough. (Android Go (8.1) is uncomfortable) You don't need all the google spy and bloatware, you can install the game directly from your phone via bluetooth with the AppManager. Untill now, I can't backup the EW4 - save I am still working to find a rootless backup-solution - I don't give up! . So I start once again - visible! ... but the most strange thing is: two days after I got my tablet, a crash of my phone during the ads, whiped out my Headquarter progress. Exactly like it happened to pathdoc: I lost progress, princess and Items of my two clones (both V1.4.24) The campaign and conquest saves remained withot generals. My updated, original game with bought IAP-slots (V1.4.30) remained unharmed. |

Trotsky- when can we expect an IAP post? This is the only 'version' of the game I have never played. I am wondering what it is like. Here are my opions so far:
4 slot, free to play, only princesses- clean and challenging game play with a clear objective.
multi slot, pay to play, princesses and generals- fun with lots of options picking the team, 150/10 generals are difficult to grind with a big team, much progress wasted regrouping generals.
4 slot, free to play, generals- interesting at first with different generals, dead end as progress becomes a medal grinding slog.

I'm back! Why? Because the game I left this game for did exactly the same thing to me!
I spammed the ads to get bunches of medals and bought Arnold for optimum in-game resource management. Other than him, I'm playing with Tavern generals only, and only in conquest mode for fun. If the game crashes again, it won't be hard to get him back and no progress will be lost.

I have come to the conclusion that it must be the particular tablet I'm playing on. It's either factory reset time or tablet replacement time.

It must be particular your tablet - Now I believe so too. EW4 is quite robust - I can repeat a headquarter swipe, but only with a planned crash py programming. Your problems seem to be for the hardware. BTW. do you have a sd-card in your tablet? There billions of SD-cards with faked memory: they declare 16GB for example, but just have 8GB. ...and after a while you overwrite the first data without any warning. If you have a not too old tablet, I wanted to invite You, to check out my first .1 mod for EW4. It installs independent, ItΒ΄s a 99% original vanilla version. Changes: - advanced graphics - 12 Slots - no IAP - mission 2b - higher rewards for 5* missions. - zooming with mouse |

I just had another wipe, yet again associated with a tablet glitch (caused by the game crashing? Who knows?) and this one killed everything except the autosave from the previous night. Even the formal save-game slot was erased.
I checked the tablet memory, and both it and the SD card are getting full but still have a few GB remaining. I've decided to pull the card and get a new one, move all the essential stuff off the tablet and then do a factory reset. Then I'll reinstall EW4 and see what happens.

So I narrowed the problem down - all the wipes seem to be occurring when the thing is running on internal power, so I decided I'm only going to play with it plugged in. For some reason I keep getting NINE freebies a day, which gets me a lot of potential medals so I decided to hell with it; I got Arnold to convert medicine and wine to medals, then Scharnhorst as artillery because I had the medals lying around and figured why not, then Dumouriez as a cavalryman, and with that I got Sophia back - and I saved the battle that did it, so hopefully if I get rebooted and lose all the generals, the save will still be there. We'll see how long things last playing under those conditions.
In the meantime I've started playing the PC version, which I hope and trust will be more stable.
