I remember long ago when a member made a spreadsheet on where all items are in the campaigns, I believe it is still around! I think you mean this thread Items stats and locations you find it on top pinned in the training camp anytime you need.

Yes that's the one! I used it multiple times in campaigns to find the best items!

I think the best russian general is bergation ( definitely spelled wrong) because in the french campaign in Retreat of the empire he is just chasing after you.

Dearborn looks good doesn't he? I mean he is a economic general with bugle and formation, how bad can he be? While Dearborn isn't bad by any means, he is more unnecessary. His best quality is architecture and lvl 5 movement, making him the fastest economic general. But that's about where the good things end. Let's analyse what Dearborn offers with bullet points. 1. Good infantry general: Dearborn is certainly not a bad infantry general, as he has good movement, acceptable training stars, and two decent skills. But he is not especially good as an infantry general. Washington has far better survivability and similar movement on grenadiers and guards and offers the unique combination of mass fire + leadership, one that only lannes shares. Furthermore, someone with only formation and bugle will hit for very little damage at low healths. So he is not the iap you need for an infantry general. Whatever abilities as an infantry general he has will rarely be used as he is an economic hybrid. 2. Economic: Infantry "Powerful" Hybrid. Dearborn is not a good economic hybrid. A good one will be washington due to his 5 buisiness stars, econ master, and his skills. Economic generals will spend their time hopping from cities from cities. For defending cities, especially against cavarly, 2 skills are really needed: leadership and mass fire. Dearborn has either. He is not especially a good defensive general due to bugle and formation. So he will be easily killed. Furthermore, most turns, you will not attack with dearborn. So both his infantry skills will barely be used. 3. Economic General: this is Dearborn's best quality. He is a fast economic general so hopping from city to city will be no issue. If you were to give him Napoleonic Code, he would be able to jumpstart your economy. But Koscuisko is also a good economic general who happens to be free. He has good movement, defense art, and architecture as well. With a pair of tall boots and light infantry, Koscuisko will be able to do everything dearborn can, and even having the same movement. Also econ generals, aren't needed everywhere, only in a handful of annoying missions and conquests as small nations. Yeah, don't get Dearborn. If you want a good economic general hybrid, Wellesley and Washington are far better options. That’s a detailed analysis. I had a better opinion about him before. But you convinced me Dearborn doesn’t belong to the best, in none of the 3 roles, because he tries to be all in one. Dearborn is a good example how a general with superficial good skills, fantastic movement and sufficient training stars is beaten by more consequently specialized versions. Funny fact: in the British-American war 1812 Dearborn was senior commander of the us. For his hesitant warfare his men used to call him Granny.

DearbornPrice: 8 Emblems Type of General: Infantry Economic Starting Movement: 4 hexes light infantry, 3 on all other unit types. Dearborn looks good doesn't he? But wasting 8 emblems on him is a crime. And yes, but that’s because I was foolish enough to purchase him. If you want an econ hybrid, Washington is the way to go due to his trading stars, good defensive skills, and econ master.

If you want an econ hybrid, Washington is the way to go due to his trading stars, good defensive skills, and econ master. No, not really bad. That’s what I mean. There’s an idea behind his setting, just not thought to the end. In cities I even prefer architecture over economic master because there’s no substituting item. On the battlefield he could use a drum, though I never possessed more than one and it’s needed for cavalry more. But for both, fighting and defending, he lacks leadership. anyway, I never had an Econ gen and still made it through.

Super reviews - I've learned a lot.
One comment about movement and Items in the evaluation.
War Horse and Snare Drum should be considered as 'on board' special when we evaluate endgame qualities.
Before to invest in a Dietz 540 for a single general the player will have +2 (Art/Cav) and even +4 for Inf. Movement items after this he will decide if more movement stars are usefull and needed - this changes a lot.

A snare drum can be used by all, the War Horse by all cav and art, attack items at least by more than one general.

PagetPrice: 6 Emblems Type of General: Cavarly Starting Movement: 4 hexes light cavarly and heavy cavarly, 3 hexes horse grenadiers and armored car. Paget is a slightly upgraded version of bennigsen, or in other words bennigsen with strike. While Paget is certainly not a bad general, other iaps for 6 emblems like Dabrowski or Murat are easily better options. Furthermore, Sulkowski is a good cavarly general to purchase with strike due to his price performance.
