Given the ideal skillset for the general that you choose. I made this to help new players starting out who don't want a p2w experience.

Good post.
Jackson is really great. I believe most players change Station to Precision Strike and that's it really.

Jackson/Stepanovic, for different reasons. Although Stepanovic is weaker, his Pierce (that I've added) makes him a great alternative to Jackson. I have yet to find much use for Plumer though, mainly because I couldn't afford to get Tactics Master onto him

I unfortunately exchanged Jackson's JF before the update with movement bonus. Would really like a cav Gen with Precision Strike Jungle Fighting Tactic Master Pierce Cav Expert
My Johnston have all except JF and it is pierce with the rest is fantastic but Jackson would have been just a bit more deadly.

Well, if you're going to put Golitsyn in there, you may as well surface Lan, though HRE 1798 or US 1775 will be a headache. EW4 (or maybe EW6: 1804) aside, Plumer. Having a commander skill is usually for the best. A skill that adds dmg by just deploying your gen on the right unit is the best. Tactics Master is a good failsafe if cav rush fails you, you have a chance of moving again thanks to Tactics Master. For cav, they are so anti-inf oriented that Edge deserves some love. Additionally, you're going to face inf most of the time so it's a good skill on cav gens, IMO.

As of right now, the only general with the combination Precision Strike, Pierce and Cavalry Expert is Mikhail Frunze, who is an IAP general.

I was referencing Golitsyn's appearance in ew6 1804, although Lan was still beastly in it.

I know have him as well but since this was non-IAP thread 😁 Frunze is really really good.

If we could buy Rennenkampf, he would probably be the best skill-wise.

when we are discussing which is the best general, it would be the one with the highest ceiling/potential, things like skillset or their cost should not be considered. plumer has the highest ceiling out of all the non ip cav gen, same with lee for infantry.
