Okay, so, here's the situation: Last night, in a fit of excitement, i finished the campaign earning me my 4th and final emblem. I also had Berthier (my main Cav Gen) at 5* cav, 5* trade, and 4* move. I then bought the Raevsky, with all 4 of my emblems (he had been sitting in my tier 2 academy for a while) and regrouped him almost imediately into Berthier, for max move (I couldn't be bothered to hunt for Diez, or to grind out 540 medalso only to see them disappear immediately). Bearing in mind I couldn't buy any tier 3 gens, was this a good move? To use all my emblems on a tier 2 move trainer, who I never even used except to grab that 1 extra star on Berthier?

Worse things have been done before, so whatever. At least your Berthier upgrading is done.

Absolute nothing to regret! - With 4shields you don't get anybody you can't get with medals. And you finished Berthier with the campaign! For me this is a great performance!I just had the discourse with Friedrich βFried Riceβ Paulus and my oppinnion was that it is practical impossible to max him out during the campaign - you teached me better - It is possible - respect!

If you are playing w/o iaps, the only way you can spend your emblems on is for middle tier generals. Plus you have a maxed berthier now. Everyone is jealous of you

Technically if you only get Berthier, Agha, and Diez from the academy, you should be able to max him out somewhere around the end of EO. Yor calculations are quite optimistic. For real: I think lacafetiere612 did a very great performance to max. out Berthier within the end of the campaign (with the usage of the max 4 shields - Well done!) - I thought this is a myth. Berthier needs 4kπ of trainers (4Agha 4Dietz 1business) + his price + the basic items (snair, No warhorse, 2 saddles, pistol) Campaign rewards are max 4200π, 1680π for selling all stars with a 5β trader (the best of Berthier he just needs one business trainer - to have at least one use) - make your count - Eastern overlord I called him worst buy for the campaign. But with the insights of Friedrich βFried Riceβ Paulus I could accept that for collectors, that don't want to switch items, after campaign ... - he can deal under optimal conditions almost 9 more damage than Sakurako - everyone can choose what he wants - I rate quality over price. And I want somebody who can be useful before the campaign is finished. (Maybe someone else - how?)

He is definitely a better (buy) than golitsyn pre Lan, and has a great combination of skills. Every feature he offers, you will use to put it this way.

I think so too, that Sulkowski is the definite better buy. He is directly usable, and with Spy instead of surprise he will deal a similar overall damage (with equal stars). P.S. I'm still proving, but right now I believe: mobility and surprise have a pretty equal value.

Not really crazy about either imo. for example is not an equal to Dobeln due to his formation replacement of mass fire, but rather the fact that he has 3 extra training stars which are crucial in keeping a general alive.

Are any of the combat skills really that useful? According to the output formula they are +5,6,7 depending on formation, so basically an additional star or a +6 attack item. Sakuroko's set of skills to avoid evasion seem more valuable.

Sakuroko's set of skills to avoid evasion seem more valuable. I think so too. The evasion skills (burgle, strike, accurate, siege master) and spy are the only skills that work as factors. The effect of these skills - especialy on top units is IMO much more valuable. BTW. All the elite princess get their real strength out of these skills. For me Sakurako is the monster - her damage is only slightly below the damage the top specialized generals deal - and she is fast as hell! And this on every land unit - for the campaign with many different combinations of startup units she is unreplacable! Edit: I'm really bad on naval - and I forgot sailor and ... - these skills are also factors ... Steersman was the missing multiplier - easy to find - I checked Kate's skills.
