As I mentioned somewhere else, I was just shoving back and forth some calculations on the Dobeln vs. Oudinot issue. I would like to share the results, even if only to my personal satisfaction
, so I am reviving this thread.
Base for calculations was using guard infantry, and having snare drum and +6 attk items to switch. Assumption was that snare drum and Mass fire affect "unit health coefficient" and "general health coefficient" simultaneously.
General sitting on single formation
- from 50 to 100% health: Oudinot better (85 max. dmg) than Dobeln(80 max. dmg), due to formation skill of Oudinot. Both using two ATTK +6 items. Dmg reduction kicks in from 50% health downwards.
- below 50% health: Nearly a tie. Dobeln slightly up front with 80 dmg vs. 79 dmg of Oudinot
General sitting on double formation:
- from 65 to 100% health: Oudinot better (95 max. dmg) than Dobeln (89 max dmg). Both using two ATK +6 items. Damge reduction kicks in below 65%
- below 65%: Oudinot with snare drum and +6 ATK item exactly as good as dobeln with two +6 ATK items. Both have 89 max dmg.
General sitting on triple formation:
- from 80 to 100% health: Oudinot has 105 max dmg, Dobeln only 98.
- from 65 to 80% health: Oudinot with snare and one +6 item has 99, Dobeln remains at 98. Oudinot with two +6 items has 95 max dmg.
- below 65%: Oudinot (snare) with 99 vs Dobeln with 98 max. dmg.
Summarizing, I think Oudinot is better (and he does not look so awkward), especially if you take into consideration that damage reduction starts in late, and I like to play with healthy units...
If you do not have +6, but +1, +2 or +4 items the preference should be even more on Oudinot.
And finally, Oudinot has 3 untrainable stars in training vs zero with Dobeln.
Ah, I feel relieved.
