If i could make a perfect cavalry General he would have surprise, Spy, Strike, and leadership, so Murat without War Master and Assault Art being replaced with Strike, and LeaderShip. Perfect Infantry General is, Formation, Bugle, Mass Fire, and Assault Art, so basically Jean Lannes without Leadership, and geography being replaced by Bugle and Formation. Perfect Artillery General Would be Engineering, Explosive, Accurate, and Spy. So Moreau without Ballistics replaced with spy. Do you guys Agree i would really like your opinion on this idea, and the skills these generals have. A well could you think of your own perfect generals? And explain Why.

Generals: Navy: Steersman, Navigation, Fireproof, Spy Infantry: Agree with Dobeln's assessment Cavalry: Surprise, Strike, Leadership, Geography. Artillery: Engineering, Accurate, Explosive, Geography General-Purpose: Assault Art, Spy, Geography, Leadership Explanations: Navy: Steersman and Navigation are the only navy skills. Fireproof because you can't get rid of fires at sea. Spy because Coastal Forts Cavalry: Surprise+Strike are self-explanatory. Leadership because cavalry penetrate behind enemy lines and tend to get surrounded. Geography because slow Cav generals aren't effective. Mobility dropped because it is the least valuable skill, and Erich von Manstein can explain why. Artillery: Dropped Ballistics for same reason I dropped mobility. Added Geography to compensate for Artillery Generals' natural slowness (Jourdan is practically useless without Warhorse). Engineering also added for speed. Other 2 skills for raw power. General-Purpose: Like Poniatowski (who is highly competent for inf and cav, and with training can be made competent for art) but with Fireproof (which is not nearly as powerful on land) replaced with the ever-valuable spy.

I would suggest to exclude both geography and engineering for a perfect general. Because they can be replaced by the items. You use the items when moving and then equip the attack items when attacking. Yet these skills are still useful until you get the required items.

The item slot could be used for additional movement-adding items, and artillery needs all the movement it can get

The item slot could be used for additional movement-adding items, and artillery needs all the movement it can get I mainly aim 3 grids for artillery and can get there with one +movement item. And 3 grids will be enough at least in 90% of the moves. Of course moving 4 grids is useful, but I would prefer my general hitting harder than moving faster. But, I get your point.
