WC3 Conquest Difficulty Ranking
This is a guide on my personal take of the difficulty of all 1939 countries. It will be formatted like Pietro Badoglio 's conquest difficulty ranking, with purple being best, and red being worst.
DISCLAIMER: This is just my opinion on 39, and the difficulty ranking is proportionate to this era, or else when I get 1960, everything will be either red or orange.
Also, thanks to Luigi Sansonetti for adding lines for Poland, and giving feedback. I would like this to be a good, accurate guide, so once again, critiques is necessary

UK-Lots of fronts you have to fight on, with little to no troops. Very grindy, and not a very fun campaign. Yet, it is a 3*, if you use Dempsey, Slim, and Monty right, then this won’t be too hard
France-I have played this and easily won. The trick is to win the front in Africa as quick as possible, send Leclerc and and arty general to Italy, and play defensive on the Spanish front. By the time you finish with Africa, Manstein will be ready to attack you, and so you devote your money to defeating Manstein. After that, the Germans fall easily.
Japan-Easy. Your forces on mainland Asia will be enough to defeat the stupid Chinese AI, and from there you can either send Yamashita to Moscow, or wipe out South Asia early. As for the states, leave field artillery on Japan, and send Itagaki over to Frisco. After that, the states just fall consecutively.
Soviet Union-Easy but boring conquest. Guderian will be weakened after Poland, and then just make sure the north doesn’t fall so the Germans can’t paraspam out of Riga, and you’re good. The only real challenge is making something out of Shaposhnikov and Voroshilov in the East.
USA-I do not suggest doing this conquest if you are just starting out. You will easily pull in 500 a round after taking a few cities, but after that you have to manage two very intense fronts.
Italy-More or less easy. You have quick access to Africa, and eventually Asia, but you must secure South Of France before the Spanish if you are to spam enough Field Arty for the USA.
Germany-Very fun game in the beginning, until the British and Soviets come in. Not very friendly for beginners, as you must preserve Guderian and Manstein as much as possible, but if you put Bock in Paris or Brussels, whichever one is the most threatened, it shouldn’t be terrible. Fun but challenging conquest.

Poland: After Yugoslavia dies, Poland will be next. Not for beginners.
Romania-defeat Govorov, rush Stalingrad, and you have enough to expand from there. Easy, except for being on the Sovet’s front doorstep, and they also seem to pay special attention to the Balkan Front, so stay vigilant
ROC-Do not try this if you are a beginner. Easytech likes to distribute Chinese generals in fits of insanity. You have plenty of generals, but half of them are on light infantry, and you are facing Kuribayashi, Okamura, and Yamashita. Now is not the time to play ROC. It will be much easier in 1943, don’t worry about this for now. Play Finland or Spain if you want easy money
Canada-Yes, you are infallible, but you have to face two fronts with a trash economy, and if you do not gain a successful foothold in both continents first try, then you will be going from a 40 round game to a 60 round game
India-Easy. Conquer neutral Middle Eastern countries, and you will have enough money to spam Field Artillery through the Balkans, and simultaneously fight off the Japanese
Australia-Easy but boring
Spain-imo, this is the best 2* country to play if you want to finish this quickly and easily. France is practically undefended (let Graziani handle Leclerc), and if you beat the Germans to Paris, then the UK will fall much easier. All you need for Africa, is a good airforce and infantry general (preferably Student) and you got the game in the bag.

Thailand-defeat Slim, and the first wave of Indian troops and you will not have to worry about being defeated. After that, it’s just a drastic expansion to the finish line.
Finland-The easiest 1939 conquest from many sources. I personally prefer Spain, but it is obvious that this is also a great choice. The Soviets pretty much ignore their northern frontier after Bagramyan is defeated, you have easy access to Moscow, and the UK
Yugoslavia-Don’t try this if you are a beginner. You will get troops from Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Italy, and Germany
Greece-same thing as Yugoslavia, except your chances of surviving are slightly better
Denmark-You don’t get very many generals from Germany, as they are all attacking Benelux, so you have to jump on Berlin as soon as Manstein is safely out of the way.
Norway-Same as Denmark, except you have a better chance of survival, having to face only paraspam.
Belgium-Belgium either doesn’t exist, or will be deep red for every other year. You will get a pile-on of Manstein, Bock, and Rommel. Good luck.
Netherlands-same as Belgium, except that you will be after Belgium.
Bulgaria-no immediate enemies, march through the Middle East, and beat the Soviets, and you are assured victory.
Hungary- Same as Bulgaria, except Western Europe is easier to access. This is my favorite 1939 1* country to play as
Egypt-play defensive on the Libyan front, while conquering Middle Eastern countries. Long but easy conquest.

1943
NOTE: If you are a beginner, I suggest playing the Allies before anything else. Italy I find to be the easiest Axis Country because the rest are either surrounded by Allies, making it a hike to the front, or are hella overextended.

Germany-You have lots of land, and lots of money, but you have to split that between 3 fronts, while simultaneously trying to get to USA as fast as possible before they become a problem. Also, all of your good generals usually die within the first ten rounds.
Japan-Japan is easier, as you are fighting weak allies, and the only thing you need to worry about is the US Navy. Placing your generals correctly will make this conquest easy.
Italy-There will eventually be the problem with Europe falling to the Allies, but you get a literal walking fortress, and Rommel usually weakens Monty. If you play your cards right, you can take Egypt with just Cavallero, march on South America, and take the USA that way.
UK-Asia will be challenging, but is pretty much the exact same tactic as '39. If you know how to use Monty, then you can clear out the Med, and make the conquest of Italy stupidly easy. As for Europe, capture Amsterdam, and Paris, send Portal down to Paris to bomb France, while assaulting on Berlin through Amsterdam, and sitting Dowding on missiles. Then you have Europe under your thumb.
Soviet Union-The Easiest out of all 3* countries. Put an arty general on your Battalion arty in the Far East, save Voronov, and send down Vasilevsky. As for Europe, beat the Super Tank Manstein that spawns in Minsk (Prepare to lose Konev), and Europe is yours.
USA-No prespawned Naval Generals, so prepare to Carrier fight your way through the Pacific, while managing a two-front war being woefully underequipped

India-One of the easiest nations to play. Sweep through neutral Middle East and Field Artillery spam through the Balkans, while waiting for the Japanese to capture Chongking to wipe them back out of Asia
Australia-Retaking Indonesia is fun, but the rest isn't. Do you like having to travel forever to get to Europe? If so, then this is your conquest!
Spain-While the USA is underequipped, it doesn't mean that they are unable to spawn generals. You will take forever to get to the front in Africa and England. Havana is hard to capture, and Clark spawns in Miami whenever it is threatened. I have trouble with this one.
ROC-As Erich von Manstein said, you have to send troops to Europe to ASAP. The Soviet Union will struggle doing anything that's not playing defensive, so take Kiev or Minsk and operate from there. As for Asia, why is Zhu De so powerful on Assault Infantry??? Your generals are good, and all you have to do is strafe Taipei, storm Changchun and build an army for Japan while sending Bai to the Philippines and South Asia, and you win in EastAsia
Romania-Romania is also overextended even gaining only one city. Imagine taking on Chuikov, Malinovsky, Kuznetskov, and Zhukov. That's Romania
France-Why are these guys 2*? I get all but one unit has a general, but the survivability of Saint-Cyr generals amounts up to nothing. By the time you fend off Cavallero, Campioni, and Mantueffel, you have no force to take the rest of Africa, let alone Europe.

Canada-I actually find this easier than '39. You have troops in East Canada, and a tank compatible city in the west. The USA will weaken the Japanese cities, but not completely capture them, so you can ride off their backs. Same goes for the British in France.
Finland-We all know that Govorov is an output monster, and Mannerheim, even though the most survivable one, is still an infantry general. You are no longer in a convenient position, because a Super Tank general (sometimes, Bagramyan, sometimes Rokossovsky) will spawn in Moscow when it is threatened.
Hungary-You are surrounded by your allies. Good luck reaching a front before the Soviets are OP and storm the Balkans.
Thailand-You have Allies on one side, and enemies on the other. Your enemies are OP, and you no longer have a field artillery to put Badoglio in. Good luck.
Brazil-The best American country to play as. Wipe out Africa in the first 20 rounds, and then storm Spain all the way up to Paris. As for the Japanese, it'll take a long time to get to The Philippines, but after that, they will fall.
You are infallible, but that is your only pro. You have trash research, trash economy, and too far away from Japan. You will only succeed in Europe by feeding off the backs of the US and UK.
Mexico-Cuba, except you are more conveniently placed, so green.
Bulgaria-Bulgaria? Bulgaria.
Egypt-Best 1* country to play as. Fend off Cavallero and Campioni in the south, and then storm Athens. After that, spam Field Artillery up the Balkan Peninsula, all the way to Berlin. As for Asia, send PMI up to New Dehli, and wait for it to be captured. Then you have two well placed fronts to easily fight on.
Mongolia-Beat off the initial wave of Japanese spam, and you will be able to manage everything else

UK-The best 3* country to play as. Send your prespawned generals south to Africa, so you can break into the Middle East from there. Nuke Bangkok, and you can either play defensive in Europe, or Asia until you have enough money to launch an attack. I personally defend Europe, since my islands are easy to defend.
France-Good game in Europe, the problem is, your outpost in Asia is outgunned. You need to play very well with Assault Infantry if you are to create a stable front in Asia.
USA-The easiest era to play USA. Send forces from the Philippines to Hong Kong and Taipei, and dig into the Chinese from there, while NATO in Europe will protect themselves with only minimal interference from your troops.
Soviet Union-WTO is just hard in general. You have to cross a neutral country and run into rugged French defenses very early in the game, while the US finds a need to nuke Timoshenko in the east.
PRC-Not too bad. Easiest game as PRC. Beat the US Navy, and you have undisputed control of the Pacific, while you send troops into Europe through the Balkans. Europe will be hard, but by the time you finish the USA, the Europeans will be fighting on two fronts.

Turkey-best 2* country to play as. Beat the initial wave of Soviet troops, knock out Iraq, and beat Iran. Then victory is sealed for you.
Sweden-you will be taking the brunt of the Soviet fist. You will attract plenty of generals and you have no nukes. Goodluck.
Mexico-OK economy, infallible, and easy immediate enemy, the problem is that everyone else is on the other side of the world.
Japan-You will be dealing with nukes, but you have missiles. retake Korea, and play defensive until Lin Biao, Peng Dehuai and their gang are death. Then sweep into Asia. The Soviets tend to not protect their capital, so nuke Moscow, and nuke everything else.
Spain-Easy. You are infallible. Dominate Africa, storm the Middle East, and create and offensive to Thailand. Europe will fall accordingly.
Canada-If the Chinese take Japan, you will be the next target. However there will be lots of Japanese cities open for you to take. Europe is always easy for NATO
Australia-you must create a stable front in Asia, but after that, you've won.
Poland-It is just annoying. Soviet will do their best to steal your cities, and you will be doing most of the work. You better hope to god that China does will in Asia too.

North Korea-imagine being the Asian version of Poland, except that you are fighting the USA, and constantly getting nuked.
South Korea-Japan will not make it in time to save you, and if they do, it will be a minimal effort. Good luck.
ROC-Jump on Chongking, and do your best to hold on to it. Defeat China, then move on to Europe. The beginning will be very tricky
Portugal-you will have a slow start, but your victory will be sealed once that start is made.
Iraq-you will have an extremely fast start taking Ankara, but Europe will be hell
Iran-still in yellow, even though closer to Asia than Iraq, you will still have the same difficulty.
Cuba-The only way you can win this, is to get nukes, or a lvl 4 factory ASAP. Jump on Mexico, then expand into L.A.
Brazil-Same case as Mexico, except that the Pacific is even farther away.
Egypt-Good luck beating the Soviets to Ankara, while Greece is trigger happy on their Super Tanks. Win the war in Africa, and enter Europe via Iberia.
Mongolia-Would you like to just not have a port where a port is difference between victory and defeat, and be landlocked as well as far away from every front? Mongolia can provide you with that.
Thailand-I cannot stress enough the fact that having a navy, or at least a strong sub fleet will be the only thing that helps you win The Pacific.

I did Japan. Attacked China, but they just make so many troops I can't keep up. I have tried many other countries and it is the same. I don't understand how they can produce so much and I can't. I attack 1 Chinese soldier with 1 carrier, 1 battle ship and 3 destroyers. After 3 turns and still did not kill it I stopped playing. This game is dumb.
