Well this is my first GOG3 guide, but I’m no novice in making guides Let’s get started
Generals used : Messe, Bock, Leclerc, Cunningham
Firstly, combine Manstein’s army and the one already present at the border. The 2x tank is perfect for your general. Put Messe on the tank. Now, set Rundstedt to motion to join the soldiers in Stuttgart. Combine the armies in Stuttgart and the one below the city. Recruit a tank from Nuremberg in turn 1.
On Turn 2, set your troops in motion. Manstein’s group will attack the tile beside Reims. Use forced march on Manstein’s army and attack Reims. Now, put Leclerc on the tank in Nuremberg, triple stack it. Bring it, along with Rundstedt to Stuttgart. Put Bock on the artillery. Heal Manstein’s army if required
Now, on Turn 3, Attack Paris and take it. DO NOT ATTACK STRASBOURG UNTIL READY!!! This is because you might get destroyed by their troop concentration. On Turn 4, Tassigny, De Gaulle will be in the Strasbourg - Dijon - Paris circle. Hence, swing Manstein’s troops to the east. Defeat the weakest ones first. Then use forced march and destroy another army (Any ones, whichever you prefer). Now, recruit soldiers to man the conquered areas. France will not look to advance, even in undefended areas, but still, defend your economic centers at least.
If you still have money remaining, bomb Strasbourg. Bomb artillery first as they are annoying. If not, you can straight away attack Strasbourg with Rundstedt’s army group. If you do not feel confident, you can wait for the next round to get resources to bomb.
Ah! Turn 5! The dawn of a new turn, but every turn brings doom to the French *Sobs*. Move Manstein’s group east. Heal Rundstedt’s army group and move them South. Recruit soldiers from Paris and take Northern France.
Turn 6. Attack Orleans and take it. If Manstein’s group is far away, use forced march and take it. Move Rundstedt’s army group towards Lyon. On Turn 7, move Manstein’s group towards Nantes. If they have good health, then you can attack a tile which has many enemy units, on your way. If not, do not engage or engage very less. In Turn 8, attack and take Nantes with Manstein’s army group. For Lyon, there might be strong troops. So try to skip a turn or two if that is the case, so that the AI might move them out of there and replace them with weaker troops or the Italians might wear them down. Remember that keeping your generals healthy is the key to win.
On Turn 9, heal Manstein’s troops. Then move him south and use forced march. Go to either Bordeaux or Limoges, whichever has stronger troops. Stronger because you don’t want to get out of hand. Don’t forget to take Northern French provinces. They usually won’t be guarded at all. So it shouldn’t be hard. However, watch out for British who might attempt an amphibious landing. Occupy Lyon. Also, make sure to recruit troops to occupy those which haven’t been yet. A continuous wall of soldiers is preferable so that your provinces won’t get stolen. On Turn 10 move Manstein’s troops towards Bordeaux. Heal Rundstedt’s troops, and attack south. Mop up France by turn 15.
An interesting case is that when you steal the French port above Rennes, the British warship in the above port will attack FOR SURE! Hence, place 2 infantries. One in Rouen, one beside Rennes. Move both of them at the same time to the sea. On the next turn, occupy the French port. The British warship will attack and move to your port. And then move your other infantry into the British port. Then use forced march and move out of the way (To the tile wet of Bristol) and spam ship. Put Cunningham on the ship and clear out the waters.
For Britain, spam infantry Rouen and use airlift into London and expand into Britain, which shouldn’t be tough. If -
a. Denmark isn’t completely occupied, then spam infantry at Leipzig, use airlift to drop below Copenhagen. In the next turn, occupy Hamburg or you can wait for it to be emptied. Then, bomb whatever is in Copenhagen at use mass airlift and drop into Copenhagen.
b. Yugoslavia/Poland gives trouble, just give your entire income to the respective groups and look at the wonder they do.
You don’t have to worry about Netherlands/Belgium as they will be toast at least by the time you finish France. If not, send Rundstedt/Manstein’s army group to occupy them.
