1.Manstein 2.Zhukov 3.Kuribayashi 4.Donits 5.Yamamoto Kuribyashi? I think infantry generals are useless here. Though it's very necessary then Rundstedt, Yamashita, Mannerheim are there.

I think Yamamoto might be better than Donitz if given the fleet leader and rumour skill, cause. he also possesses the air advantage while Donitz is only best in naval. It's not apple to apple comparing Yamamoto and Donitz in term of air gen, because Donitz is pure Naval gen, while Yamamoto is the best Air (tied with Arnold) and Air/Naval hybrid. There's so much factor to decide which gens are considered worth to buy/ viable (best gen only belong to one and only Guderian), and Yamamoto isn't ranked in top 10 gens worth to buy.

Manstein and Zhukov are too expensive (costs real money). for mine it's: 1. Guderian (best of all time) 2. Konev (my comrade) 3. Nimitz (Best Pacific General) 4. Rokossovsky (a.k.a. me )/ Rommel (the Desert Fox) 5. Donitz (best submarine general) I think Yamamoto might be better than Donitz if given the fleet leader and rumour skill, cause. he also possesses the air advantage while Donitz is only best in naval. For me air generals are only useful in some domination levels and speed running (which I am not doing), and Yamamoto can't have many necessary navy skills especially wolfpack which is crucial for invasions and other domination levels. One of the biggest reasons that make Dönitz so great is that level 4 wolfpack which makes other ships hit like they had a general on. Also Yamamoto can't have Sailor, Depot ship nor Explosives either.

Depot ship? worse than machinist for a Naval gen. He's the best carrier/super carrier gen

Oh yeah, he has Explosives . Yeah, agree on that one but for a navy gen wolfpack is crucial. for invasion, yes, wolfpack helps a lot, but in campaign or conquest for no-good economic country (which almost impossible to build navy spam), wolfpack is less useful than explosive or sailor

A navy general with explosives can, with paratrooper help, near single-handedly kill Japan in something like 39’ or 43’ conquest. A cruiser is just as dominant in the Mediterranean.

Captain if you want an air general, get Dowding or Arnold. I had Yamamoto before i got Nimitz and he was trash. So i sold him and got Nimitz. skills for Dowding: Industrial/Tech Expert. For Arnold get Crossfire or Cover

But a navy general almost never changes the outcome of a conquest only makes it faster. I mean… there’s very few conquests where the eventual outcome is uncertain.

I just keep Yamamoto better only in respect for completing whole scenario as fast it can be and for me Donitz seem to be more expensive that's why I said so!!

Yeah, overall Yamamoto is great but a bit pricey.
