I absolutely agree that all of the replacements for Timoshenko are much better than him and that they will add more "ease" to the run. The point I tried to make was that I ran out of medals even without an allied HT general.
Assuming that I didn't waste my medals (who likes to be called out on making stupid decisions ) I'm curious how you spend your budget within the limits of F2P and no excessive grinding. Supposedly, perfect clearing all campaigns and beating all challenge missions (just enough to reach lv 10 or every single one?) is on the agenda? Given your easytech games expertise I'm pretty sure you'll make it but maybe we get to see a Commius kind of solution among the team of established generals Yeah, my plan is to complete every mode of the game including new epic battles (they were the main reason why I decided to reinstall the game in the first place). But our choice of good generals is rather limited in GoG3. I am planning to use Badoglio instead of Leeb, Slim instead of MacArthur, but I don't see other viable alternatives to well-known names right now. Maybe, just maybe, Kuribayashi instead of Yamashita is also an option. How about Vatutin? In terms of cost. As you switched some generals to those who are pocket friendly.

I think two tank generals on each side is a fairly reasonable idea. And, as I said, I will upgrade T28 for him. I try to replace expensive generals with budget versions whenever possible, but, objectively speaking, Rommel/Guderian and Rokossovsky/Vatutin are indeed the best heavy tank generals. I am quite certain that the easiest way to complete GoG3 is to build up a team around heavy tanks.

Well stoic , that is going to be a unique and interesting run. And seeing you bashing all those pacific campaign missions will a tech level much lower than mine and still perfect clearing it (Allies), even though I have been playing for 2 months and still haven't perfect cleared yet (You can say I was lazy) gives me inspiration.

I am playing since August 11 and my Axis team is almost completed. Guderian/Rommel Badoglio Kuribayashi Doenitz I am sure that it is enough to complete the game, but I will purchase Kesselring later as well, just to have additional tactical possibilities. It's time to turn my attention to Allies. I completed all North African campaigns with flying colours with Rokossovsky and Govorov. Now I will add Vatutin and Slim to them.

I completed North African campaigns and now I am able to hire Vatutin. But before buying Slim I have a slight diversion of a plan. Namely There are two reasons: The first one is this: And the second one is a bizarre thought to have a general who will do nothing else but defend urban areas. All the time he will remain inside cities, airfields, oilfields etc. I just want to see how this "economic" strategy might work in campaigns. I will report results later

Gamlin is not bad at all in Elite battles too. Though I wouldn't call a battle you can win in 12 turns "elite"

Now that explains why Victory medal is possibly the best IAP you can make.

I'm saying that Victory Medal is the best IAP you can make because with 50 medals everyday, you can easily try out new general paths and experiment with generals.

Oh, that is probably true, but my standard approach is "no pain-no gain"

Here is my last Axis general (well, not literally, because I can buy a couple more later for getting prestige points).

stoic, how fares your employment of Yamashita's "disciple", Kuribayashi?

stoic, how fares your employment of Yamashita's "disciple", Kuribayashi? I am fairly pleased. I simply can't see what Yamashita could have done better. Of course, on paper Yamashita has a far superior survivability, but I don't use Infantry generals in such way that they really need it. I had both Yamashita and MacArthur on my previous run, but so far I don't think I will feel their absence or miss them. Nice picture, btw
