I know that you don't need to buy a naval general to pass 1945, but I am thinking about perfect clearing. Perfect clearing a missions is usually a harder than just beating it so I want to know whether it is possible to perfect clear 1945 without a naval general or if Donitz-Nimitz is required. Thanks!

It is difficult to say, because I had both. I recall in one Axis mission we should kill an enemy Admiral (Nimitz, if my memory is correct) guarding the port in several first turns. Quite tricky if we don't have a decent admiral. european-war-4.boards.net/thread/15600/guide-battle-new-yorkAnother example is an Axis landing. We have to kill Nimitz while our troops disembark. european-war-4.boards.net/thread/14730/battle-los-angeles-help

Besides, I think we need Admirals for epic battles anyway.

I perfect cleared the Allies campaign without Nimitz because I could only afford Donitz at the time and the Axis missions gave me more trouble. High navy tech can make up for not having an admiral so Battle of New York is possible without Donitz (see the summer event speed runs) and my guess is that Los Angeles is possible, too. (after somehow getting your troops on shore the ships need to defeat the enemy reinforcements including Nimitz but it's ok if they die during this process)

Dönitz/Nagumo is better buy since Axis mission is harder especially Midway and Hawaii if i'm not wrong. While Allies just buy Mountbatten/Halsey or just use Cunningham. But i suggest just buy all the best Naval gen for the challenge mode, the elite mode and the achievement

Just a quick question, my lineup :
Axis : Guderian, Leeb, Yamashita, Donitz Allies : MacArthur, Vatutin, Govorov (Not impressed by him on his first fight TBH)
So should I get Rommel next or Nimitz? I plan to get one in every field in both Axis and Allies. And Rommel is costly too. But sure, he's more useful. This general is going to be my last for a long time because achievements and perfect clears are hard to come by now. So whom should I get first? Rommel or Nimitz? Any others?

I still stand by my view that additional navy gens aren't needed to clear campaigns. For the naval elements that eluded me is the part on sinking the carriers in Battle of Los Angeles. I usually sink Nimitz in the landings quite smoothly and navy is useless for Battle of Washington.
For John Marston, Allies: Tassingy / Slim and Monty/Roko/Patton. Axis: Rundstedt and Rommel. There are no difficult naval elements in 1944 and 1945 for the Allies. I'm not sure about Okinawa and I've yet to Perfect Clear Iwo Jima yet, but I Perfect Cleared almost every thing else with lvl 2 navy tech. (6-6-6-2-6 helped.) The Axis campaigns are relatively easier to clear so Rommel should help. For the Allies, building up your team of 6 at this point will do as the Allies feature infamous DPS missions and the Normandy Landings.
