stoic more so. Time to update the guides, now that GCR is almost complete, that and I wouldn't have enough time once EW7 arrives aside from managing the speedrun records. That said, to avoid derailment of the topic, Belisarius is superior in almost everyway. Anthony has one advantage tho, which is allowing some blitz tactics in conquest and in campaign due to March, and with items that give movement like military map, he can cover quite the distance. The advice is to get both eventually, as you can never have enough cavalry generals. But when lacking in medals, Belisarius is a more solid choice.

He has the same crit chance with Huo. But Huo lacks another talent from Apollo banner, and Huo’s skill set not as good as his. I have to note that the Cavalry Tactic talent only add 10% crit chance when you attack (your turn to attack). So it’s 50% totally when you attack and 40% when counter attack. It seems that the Apollo banner is made for him, that makes other cav gens fall behind one big step. And how can you find that Dragon Tripod? Oh, i didn't notice that Apollo's Banner only add crit% when attacking. Belisarius win over other Gold tier Cav general becasue of his Cavalry Commander imo, Arminius and Huo have nice talents and skills but lack Cav Commander skill. I also thought Apollo Banner really fits Belisarius well especially for Assault and Cav Commander +1 also for Crit% boost.
you can find Dragon Tripod from Civil War of Caesar (8th Campaign) decisive battle on Rome-Pompey side. i barely win those battle in favor of Belisarius. 3 of 7 General i have was disabled in that battle and fortunately Belisarius doesn't. as a f2p player, i was right to buy him instead of Arminius and i was so happy to be able to win that tripod because of him.

I talked to the maker of the latest general choosing guide in baidu and he told me there's no need to get Pacorus anymore since medals are easier to obtain now. What do you think?

I mean, there isn't, but even if you sell him, it is only like 5 medals. He still makes life easier in the beginning.

He makes it easier for those who want to be strictly f2p and not buy Hannibal, but you can get by the earlier campaigns without any generals. He becomes a placeholder later on when you get better cavalry generals, but he's cheap so it won't matter in the long run.

I'm not sure if medals are more abundant in the beginning of the game. For these 3x12 medals you need to reload because 99,999 gold is far away. Decisive battles are easier if we have more generals and Pacorus does well in these. Senate missions (even if it's for gold or to work towards achievements) and conquests will be possible/ yield better results with Commander and Pacorus.
I think you could make an argument if the recommended path for Commander was a cavalry focus. But then a cheap archer general would make sense. To sum it up, imo Pacorus is less of a need to get general but still with 95% resell value, the cheap generals can easily make back these 5-10 medals and give huge benefits in the early game.
