I haven't watched Rise of Skywalker yet, but the Last Jedi is my least favourite out of all the movies I've seen, although I don't hate it per se. I can tell that the movie had promise, and if Disney actually cared about the product that it was making I'm certain it would have been a lot better The problem with the sequels is that Disney saw that whatever they were doing with Marvel worked, so they basically just took a "Marvel superhero movie/cinematic universe" approach with Star Wars. |

2. The acting and choreography is horrendous. In the red room battle scene a guard could cut Kylo's head off, but instead he chooses to hit his lightsabre.
3. Last, but most importantly the whole plot of the sequels is so messed up. Luke is an old guy who calls lightsabres laserswords and does nothing. Rey becomes the most powerful jedi ever (well not really) with probably a couple months of practice. |

Reasons why I hate the Last Jedi:
1. There doesn't happen anything, they're literally just in some casino.
2. The acting and choreography is horrendous. In the red room battle scene a guard could cut Kylo's head off, but instead he chooses to hit his lightsabre.
3. Last, but most importantly the whole plot of the sequels is so messed up. Luke is an old guy who calls lightsabres laserswords and does nothing. Rey becomes the most powerful jedi ever (well not really) with probably a couple months of practice. Yeah, I agree that there's a lot of flaws in TLJ. So much so that I'm currently writing a Google Docs on how to rewrite TLJ (although I haven't worked on it in the past year). And here's a one-hour-long analyzation of the throne room fight by an actual sword fighter: I think if the sequels had one director make the whole thing then it would have been better. Rian Johnson tried to retcon TFA and then JJ Abrams tried to retcon TLJ, which basically turned the whole thing into a mess I agree with 1 and 2 completely
3. I think, and this is a really terrible explanation, but I think the reason why Rian Johnson had Luke call lightsabers laserswords is to convey his idea of how useless one single Jedi master with a melee weapon would be against a military that has millions of soldiers and highly advanced technology. I do think the line is extremely poorly written though.
I also think that if they wanted Rey to be written better but still powerful then they could have designed her as someone who has extremely high force capabilities but absolutely no control whatsoever, so she spends the entire time learning how to control her powers. |

Yeah, I've seen that one, but haven't watched the whole video. What infuriates fans is that Luke is totally contrary to Legends Luke. In Legends he's a super powerful jedi who revives the jedi order by training a bew generation. In the films he's a senile and paranoid old man.
Yeah, the problem isn't the potential, but the lack of training. He literally uses the force before any even Anakin or Luke couldn't do that.
But not only Rey and Luke, but the plot itself is ridiculous and total nonsense and it will be even more nonsense in Rise of Skywalker if yoh watch it. |
