Because angry bees attacked the British and Indian troops during the battle. the wikipedia page says it attacked the Germans too. But British were the ones who suffered the most, Germans were not really affected much.

I only found that the bees attacked both contraents, so the battle paused a few times. Genereral Aitken is always named as the reason for "one of the most notable failures in British Military History". He was recalled to London and was asked to explain how such a large force [>9,000] could have been defeated by just 1,000 German-led Askaris [with reinforcements, initially less than 250]. He was unable to provide a suitable answer, was demoted to Colonel and subsequently fired.

From what I can remember, the battle was inconclusive because both sides were forced to retreat because of an attack by africanized killer bees. The british commander was demoted because he had not won against such a small army, not becaause he lost against them. It made warfare near impossible for both sides.

Tear down the enemy before they tear you down. If that's not possible, then wear down the enemy before they wear you down. If that's not possible, then spam your enemy before they spam you down. Another one I liked - "Whenever you see a slight of Manstein moving towards you, retreat behind your allies." - Lucklife

"If you see an enemy, paraspam. If there are more enemies, paraspam. If they took your cities, paraspam. If the spam can't fight back, paraspam.
Spam is love, spam is life. Let the enemies hate you for life. One step closer, we drop the lines, We will make them scream for life."

I sweeped up Middle East, Africa and captured Stalingrad when Germans counterattacked. It was a stalemate and then the Japanese were approaching from the East, when I ragequitted.

They're so far away from Japan!

The africanized killer bee exist only in America and not before 1957. Comming with the white flag and surrender is not very inconclusive. My cite is from the official British history book of the battles of WW.
