Iron Duke, stoic, I don't want to spend money, but i like the game, so why not . I'm also in the same boat when it comes to f2p, that's why I never spent in EW6 1914,despite how neat the blast and airstrike cards are. Anyway , after buying Washington and testing him out, I gotta say, I like him. That said, Should I upgrade Alexander past 3 stars ? Not sure if I should. Then again, he's the only infantry general I'm using, but do we even need infantry in the early-mid stages of the game? I'm also in medal debt, Washington taxed me, so what can I do.ย The puzzle of Alex can not be easily solved. On one hand, he is a top tier Infantry General we get for free, on the other hand, he is way too expensive to upgrade and to promote. So, if you don't have a special plan for him (and, again, it is not that easy to find a place for Alex in any possible line-up) better leave him alone at lvl 2, as Iron Duke recommended or even at lvl 1.

stoic, Iron Duke, I see. Oh well, Alex gonna be benched later on them. That said, midgame is quite fun. My only problem is why do we need that much literature to upgrade the time period. Just noticed I need 240,and I'm short of 120. Neat. Game really is more end game focused.

Neat. Thanks! Time to build the stronger Hannibal. That said, can you make a score list for the I. A. P generals? I know I said I won't buy any of them, but I'm having fun in this 6 year game that i may consider buying 1 of them. Hopefully I won't go down the EW4 path and buy everything, and I'm sorry stoic that I may betray the f2p path once again, but I swear I'll be f2p for ew7(hopefully khosrau won't be I. A. P). I'm seriously considering making a group for dedicated f2p players and make stoic the defacto leader. Bottle of Life hands down.

I agree, once you hit endgame (after princesses, bismark, etc) you enter a long period of maxed resources, which seems to me like the best time to upgrade general relationship levels. Getting new ages, princesses and generals seems like a higher priority in early-mid game.

Wait til you get to the Gunpowder & Industrial Age upgradesย What. And I thought 250 literature is hard enough. Ah well, guess I'll grind conquests. Or just continue on the campaigns. There are tons of literature in hidden places in different campaigns. There is a thread somewhere about these hidden places. In addition there are two princesses with a daily income of literature Plus you will get literature for Legendary mode wins. It is definitely not as bad nowadays as it was once upon a time Back then it was a real pain.

stoic, pretty sure I collected all the hidden literature, unless there are hidden literature without any locator, then yeah. I'm just farming conquests atm, and China is quite fast, just need to do it around 6 more times and I can advance to the next stage. As much as I want a conquest thread in this board, additional slots being a p2w advantage is something that doesn't sit right, and if we do agree to have one, then more verification or separate records I guess, or last resort being only video evidence. For now, I'm starting to enjoy conquests. Just press auto til victory.

Greece good. I know someone said Greece is where you farm literature, but I was skeptical until I did a 20 turn run. Not sure about ragnarok, but additional slots would indeed make a difference for normal conquests. Especially for later conquests.

Gunpowder age needs 600 literature, that's cool. Ew5 really seems more focused in the end game than other E.T game. Mundane observations aside, where should I put my future medals on? Nobunaga, Attila, cleopatra and Hannibal have been upgraded to 4 stars, and I left moctezuma at 3 stars for now, not sure if I should keep upgrading him. I'm just waiting for Saladin to come to me, 2 days still.

And, of course, Washington's logistics as high as you can afford at the moment.

The difficulty jump in the empire age campaign to the discovery age campaign is quite noticeable. I also learned how annoying leadership and rumour is when wielded by enemy generals.
