I am currently stuck at the crimean war challenge called siege, I have been stuck for almost 2 weeks now, the enemy rushing is just too much to handle. I manage to survive to round 15 but eventually lose and the turns you need to survive to win is 16. At first my strategy is making all of my forces go to the last Serbian city to prepare for a defense, but i realized i am not stopping the russian advance at all. Since i wanted to get 2 stars, i need to not use my inf generals since surviving with the 3 cities in hand is impossible, with that i transferred the healing items of my inf gens to my cav gens. My new strat is to use forced marches to capture the first serbian city at turn 3, and making my cav and arty gens with nelson on heavy artillery position just front of the second city and spamming line inf at the first city to wipe out enemy units one by one. My other units with no gens with some support from arty gens with 3 range will distract the attacking russians and then i will use maria the princess to spawn 2 mamlukes. When i distracted them enough i retreat my forces to the starting city and the second serbian city to let my gens heal a bit. This is where i try to capture that serbian city before the russians, if i manage to do that i will put louise the princess and slowly take out units. At this point 2 of my cav gens will die but luckily 1 cav gen and all my arty gens are supposed to survive. Now this is the hardest part of my strategy that i have been trying for more than a week, desperately trying to capture the last serbian city before the russians. Unfortunately it is not done.
Can someone tell me what should i do like change my strategy or something like that?

Rip, I haven't played EW6 in a while, 2 years actually, but if you can give a screenshot of the map, it might refresh my memory. I'll bring in stoic in case he remembers it.

If my memory is correct, though I haven't played it quite for a while as well, it is a mission with "don't use Infantry generals" as a 3* winning condition. If so, then it is not that hard to complete it with one or two stars. Just take only one of the three key targets and try to build a fortification line around it. Don't attack enemies, just let them to attack you. It should be enough to defend one key point and to pass through this mission. You can replay it later to get 2 or 3 stars.

thethethe08, european-war-4.boards.net/thread/9923/siege?page=1Pretty neat. I now remember this challenge. It was the one I 3 starred before quitting EW6 1806 for completion. Neat. Mamluks are the key as zabadanov86 said in that thread. I had blucher tho, so you might need more time grinding medals for more cavalry generals.

Anyways, should i put my gens on the mamlukes or the musket cavalrymen?

It took me a while to farm medals to get cav generals as I focused on infantry, and I used 5 If I remember correctly. I got blucher tho, so it might take you longer. Pretty hard campaign, just finishing it with 1 star is enough, then replaying it for 3 stars is the way.

Then just use your generals, but whenever they lose around 1/3 to 1/2 half just replenish their health. They will basically be more immortal and just eat up troops while playing defense. It should work as that is what I did and my generals were not to great. Use Infantry if needed.

yep i made it with med kits too. like 30 small and 22 large med kits. 4 cavallry generals. blucher, lan, murat, desaix. without inf of course for 3 stars. artillery napoleon, sophia, kutuzov you could also use nelson or treville as inf generals if you have navy generals mamlukes good they heal when killing an enemy. maria good to put in first city for cavallery cost reducing
strategy : you could let them take first two citys in the north. in the mean time killing as much as possible enemy units from first wave. then before second wave reaches you, take middle town in north. try to hold it with med kits on the occupying unit. last is to deal with the second wave and get the city on east.
