Some guy on the ET discord gave a full rage about how Olga looks like your generic fantasy warrior princess and not orthodox lol, still pretty cool to see Russian generals however I'm really excited for generals of the Caliphate on the other hand. Muslim generals are almost non-existant in other ET games.

Lol, that guy should really read about Drevlyan Uprising and how brutally she oppressed it. This page of our history literally looks like a fantasy book.

Easytech usuallly doesn't go ham in historical detail. I would like to see them showcase how brutal but effective she was in her revenge campaign to subjugate the Drevlyans. She's also a venerated as a saint by the Eastern Orthodox church, which is interesting to say the least.

It is believed that she dramatically changed after her baptism, but it can be of course just a part of a myth created by Knyazs Vladimir and Yaroslav several decades after her death, when they began converting Rus to Christianity.

Yup. It's hard to say really without primary sources written by different people. I would understand why they would create a myth about her changing after her baptism, if your goal is to convert someone, you want to have the best reputation, and having her as a saint is suspicious given how she subjugated the Drevlyans.

Nevrtheless, she did a lot for Rus and regarding that there is no one single Drevlyanin more, I'd say she deserves her honour and memory. Super-hyped about Eastern European campaigns, which are highly likely to be in the game after this announce.

And the fifth one is Grand Princess Olga/Helga. A strange choice for a legendary general, to say the least. There are more prominent figures in Russian medieval military history.
