I have brought Vercingetorix. I plan to get Mithridates next. I completed the Eastern Empire and am at Caesar's Civil War. This is one of the campaign I was really looking forward to due to its significance and the great battles. The Civil War and the preceding events changed the fate of the Roman Republic. There is also the different enemy. Rather then some foreign nation, we will be fighting roman armies and be against Pompey. We fought with Pompey for a number campaign battles and its somewhat tragic we are against him now. This might seem dramatic. One of the things that feels really different from past Easytech games is the emphasise on the generals and their story. There is something of a consistent narrative being told here. On another note, I really want to farm the Eastern Empire decisive battle since it gives more medals but I am unable to get 3 stars on the final battle. I will have to stick to doing the Sertorian War decisive battles and try again when I have another general.

I have completed the conquest of Gaul. The extra 5 medals per day is nice. Looks like there is another general we will face later. Labienus leaves Caesar and joins Pompey. Knowing his history, I had expected he will change sides. Still, we fought with him during the Gallic Wars and him being a enemy now is somewhat sad. At the least, he doesn't stay to fight, he just runs off east. I am wondering if I need a navy general soon. Judging from the campaign names and what they correspond to, there will be significant navy battles relating to Sextus Pompey rebellion and the battle of actium.

I finished the Civil War of Caesar. I would have looked forward to playing caesar's planned campaign to defeat Parthia and avenge Crassus but as this follows history, Caesar is assassinated and it looks like we follow the story of Octavian now. I feel like I am making good progress at the half way point of the campaigns. I brought Mithridates. I hoped, adding him would help me complete the Eastern Empire decisive battle but I am still unable to complete the final battle with 3 stars. On my current run of it I lost my commander and Pacorus. I am not entirely sure what to do with my medals now. I will probably try to upgrade some of the powerful skills, and buy items like the laurel crown and golden spear. I looked around and I see people mention that we should get cavalry generals to farm the decisive battles in the Strike From the Han Dynasty. So I will probably get Arminius later on.

Glad to see you back, I still remember your guides for WC4 and I find your campaign guides for EW5 (which I started recently) most useful. For GCR: naval missions/dbs, generals with 5/6/7 bars in navy and the commander with 9 and the corresponding aura are enough to pass them with a little persistence and repositioning. If you want to farm them, then Cleo or Agrippa can help (and they become relevant again in hero legend). And Commius deserves the 3rd place in cavalry when it comes to farming Han db, because Commander and Belisarius use the best gear and he is automatically always in high morale. Arminius, Huo and Antony/Scipio/Wei are good extras/replacements if one of them dies or if the battle offers a 4th cavalry. A third infantry could be used in the 4th battle and archers, being only 3 stacks and suffering from bad AI, could use 1-2 substitutes. So I'd recommend Octavian and Cleo/Li/Surena.

You really got 9 points in navy for your Commander? I'd put the 9 points on a land unit instead.

All he has to show for himself in DB instead of Huo is Inspire and Siege, when you should be slaughtering units and getting your morale up anyway.

I have both and Commius (with +15 gladius and HP restoring dagger) is simply better. All the morale up and +crit% items are on Commander and Belisarius so Huo doesn't slaughter but rather get slaughtered

He's a tough cookie and at least has something more than Inspire.

Basically it means that he is slow Cavalry gen with 3 skills and without commander skill benefit. Pretty bad choice.

Yes he is worse than Belisarius, Raid isn't a terrible skill, and TBH he is actually a pretty fast gen being a cavalry and all. I don't know why you would waste any of his skills, including Raid, for March or something. I rank him below Belisarius and just ahead of Scipio who is in turn just a hair ahead pf Arminius. Way better than Antony and Wei.

Way better than Antony and Wei. Antony has Cavalry commander which is the best skill of course. He has some issues with survivability but his March and Geography counter this slight disadvantage. He can easily go for replenishment and chase the advance of the main attack force very fast. Extremely convenient general to use.

I recently got to the Civil War of the Liberators. In expeditions, I have completed the conquest of Asia. I did a few more attempts at the last stage of the Eastern Empire DB and I finally got 3 stars, I started farming it now. The difference really seemed to be my generals were deployed in a more forward position. I am not sure if there is really a strategy for DB but when playing DB there are a few things I feel like I can do to keep my generals alive. I feel like deploying more generals increases the chances a general will die so before the final stage I try to only just deploy enough generals who can get 3 stars. I also put my generals in the back and away from enemy generals, so the non-general units take the blunt of the initial damage and weaken the enemy for my generals to attack.
