This is my 12 general deployment in arena. I have them mostly upgraded. Pompey Vercingetorix Bato Archer Commander Attila Mithridates Octavian Hannibal Han Xin Belisarius Huo Arminius In conquest there are a total of 16 generals so I aim to upgrade more generals to help fill the last 4 slots. I will probably upgrade Antony and Drusus. I will also upgrade Aetius and Cleopatra for the navy slots.  How long did it take you to progress through the game?
Didn't seem too long ago when you were "just collecting daily resources"  And of course I hope it was a pleasant journey What's your take on the game in hindsight?

jonblend, I started in December last year so its been nearly 6 months. Of course much of the time was passively collecting resources. GCR is one of my favourite easytech games. I really like the setting and focus on Rome, seeing these historical campaigns and generals has been a enjoyable experience.

I really like the setting and focus on Rome, seeing these historical campaigns and generals has been a enjoyable experience. Same for me, it really revived my interest in this historical period and I spent many hours reading/watching about famous generals, battles, cultures, language and their effect on today's world. |

That means Bato is the same as Pompeius, a worse, but faster Vercingetorix  No Pompey > Vercingetorix > Lepidus (Labienus) > Crassus > Bato imho Pompey > Crassus > Vercingetorix. Then Agrippa / Aetius. |

Okay, although I think it's wrong, I understand why you all think Pompey is better than Vercingetorix, but Crassus? Really? His damage is inferior to Ambiorix and his survivability is worse than Brutus'. |

A look at my current purple gem spending. These purple gem are probably the biggest bottleneck for improving your generals, especially with the low rate you gain them. I still have many things I want to use it for. For generals, I have only upgraded Attila/Hannibal to the 6th and Commander/Han Xin to the 5th stage in way of honor. I still need more gems to fully upgrade my main generals proof of honor. For pets, the most important are the behemoth and cyclops. I dream to upgrade them to level 10 but the high costs make it a faraway dream. For banners, the ones I have left to unlock are the IAP chaos banner, mars, and the 3 remaining are from the achievement for winning the different conquests. My current priority is to save my gems for the banner of Mars when its available on android.   |

That's interesting because f2p players have less generals that go up to lv6 WoH and it doesn't make sense to upgrade the iap banners either. Sure, you get a few more purple gems from achievements and along with buying Attila but it seems they are not enough. That is, unless you unlock the full proof of honor or buy them in the shop.

Since Legendary armors are given for doing the last 2 conquests, I am motivated to do them. I done Scourge of God with West Rome. I brought the victoria gift pack so I have 9 legendary armor in my game. So far I used the legendary armor on Legionary Woad Raider Imperial Guard War Elephant War Chariot Javelineer I will use legendary armor on horse archers when their 2nd ability gets fixed. That leaves 2 left undistributed. In arena, my generals which lack elite units are Bato, Mithridates, Octavian, and Huo. There is some consideration to swap them with generals that can use elite units, like Pharaates or Li. But I am unsure if/how much of a improvement they would be and I been winning all my arena matches so I don't feel the need to change my arena lineup. We will eventually have enough elite armor to upgrade all elite arms to lvl 5 but I am currently saving them for when chapter 16 of HL is out to upgrade the troops used there.  |
