I push back the axis along the front. My Guderian takes Berlin later on. I found paratroopers really useful, several times I used them to take undefended cities. Paratroopers and missile strikes are really essential to complete the conquest. They become more important than cities in early-midgame of the conquest. Having a "Half air general" helps. I had Rommel and MacArthur, both with 2 air stars to do the job and brought even Kesselring into the fray for a while. And moreover, remember to use nuclear bombs when the enemy spams a lot. They were really helpful for me in clearing the spam. Nuclear bombs do splash damage, make them more efficient to clear out the mob. Airports here are essentially your logistics. I never use nuclear bomb or missile in conquest (unless i'm doing a non serious run or just testing it) and still finish conquest before round 100 as British one in africa

This conquest map is larger then I expected and starts to feel tedious. I landed my forces in North Africa and continue to advance in Europe. Spain has taken much of France and my forces are about to push them back. This feels it will be such a long march to get to the end of africa and spain. Oof. I hear naval spam is just crazy, and is the reason why I don't do conquests. You have to cross the Mediterranean, and have to conquer a continent. Are planning an AG? 1939 is very easy and provide you with medals, once you are done with Conquest (and have taken a sufficient break from big map torture), you can try it out. Good luck!

The game crashed while I was doing conquest and I lost my save... This is absolutely infuriating. I had this occur a few times in great conqueror Rome when I played the campaign. I should really consider getting a phone which can has better performance. This autosave system seems flawed if it can be wiped by a crash. I am not doing any more conquest on my current phone.

That must be as frustrating as ET games can be. GOG3 conquest would be the last thing from anything in ET games I'd want to lose the save of.

That's sad then. But I think the conquest can be put aside for now. Army groups are way more faster, rewarding and interesting. Try them. Try the Axis ones first because the problem with Allies AG is that they are disconnected (Poland from western powers) and what happens is, one or two Axis AGs becomes so powerful that you have to grind them out before advancing. Also, if you still want to get the prestige points, do the United front then. It's not too fun, sure. But I'll pick that over conquest any day.

I completed eastern front 1941. The new units unlocked and reaching level 5 in tech level has gained me prestige. I have enough prestige to get the cross medal. With the new generals unlocked in pacific front 1942, I feel like I should buy generals for infantry and navy now. For axis I am planning to get Yamashita and Donitz. For allies it is MacArthur and Nimitz.

If you just want to save a slot, Kuribayashi is better, because he can beat Yamashita's damage, but probably not his survivability. I don't believe you have the resources to level up Taurus yet (don't do it yet, only for slow inf), so Kuri will be a bit weaker. For the Allies, I manage to get through with Mountbatten. He only loses to Nimitz's aura, but with Donitz's aura covering it, Mountbatten will be superior. It's up to you, whether you want an aura or not.

In non-campaigns, he will be a 3rd choice above Nimitz, and saves you ~180 medals. A great choice I would put even above Nimitz. While Nimitz will be a better choice in campaigns, MB has his merits elsewhere (and even in campaigns, the difference is less than Nimitz's aura). Certainly a great choice for less than 600 medals. May not be great even, but certainly not terrible. Average at worst. With Nimitz (a pair I want to use/see used), I suspect Britannia will rule the waves again! (at least for the Allies)

(at least for the Allies) There's Nagumo who is superior. Damage wise, Mountbatten will be a good choice only if you value crit and/or speed, but honestly I'm not very satisfied with this skill based on my experience using Govorov. Taken crit into account as a third admiral, Mountbatten is better than Nimitz on subs, battleships, and British and Italian cruisers. If crit is ignored, then he is strictly worse than Nimitz. Plus the free admirals are really decent and two of them are good protectors of Nagumo, who is relatively more vulnerable. Mountbatten is too overpriced for his ability.

Cunningham alone is not good enough for the Allies IMO in 1945, while Mountbatten does it almost as good as Nimitz. To put that into perspective, TE > NGS, Logistics > Ace, and Destroy and extra mobility (along with negligibly better slots) are almost as good as the extra star and Wolfpack.

Nimitz's damage is (atk + 20 + 15) * def + 12, and Mountbatten's is (atk + 15) * def * 1.12 * (1 + 0.5 * 0.24). Without an aura, there will be a significant gap between their output. I don't appreciate Logistics because 8 is pretty insignificant given the HP and damage of navy. That extra mobility would allow Mountbatten to move 5 grids on cruisers or battleships, but the movement of navy is limited by vision and I don't think you would want to move too fast compared to the rest of the fleet. If you want cheap damage dealer there's Spruance.
