Playing EW5's Western Giants campaign series, Darkness Operation reminds me of the times when ET forced us to attack a well-defended position or extremely high HP boss head-on to win. 30k Fenrir and 60k Jรถrmungandr. If not for Iron Duke's 2* guide, I didn't think it was possible to wear down such foes so swiftly. What are some similar instances which you remember about ET games?

For an early game incident, the most similar incident was GOG Classic's Defense of Britain. While the mission was actually pretty easy to five star, it seemed impossible at first to defeat Goering (who was one of three marshals), Rundstedt, AND Bock.

Road To Hell - the last mission of the American campaign. (EW4 - obvious) Only Hull and Dearborn and four light units. On the other side: red and green to combat - everyone is hostile, even Switzerland - 10 commander 4 are targets. It looked so scary - almost impossible. But it is, once you start, quite an easy mission.

It took me three, the first one to scout everywhere.

Also by the time you get to Road to Hell you already have (or should have, at least) a number of good generals and/or princesses that should make it easier.
Like before I lost my save data on my old computer I had Sulkowski/Sophia/Scharnhorst/Ney/Dobeln/Collingwood and used them to make it easier.
Without gens I can see how it'd be hard but I'll take that over the Battle of Three Emperors or Battle of Austerlitz campaigns lol

Sun Tzu: the ideal ratio for attacking an enemy is 3:1. ET: Exactly. Sun Tzu: Why are we outnumbered 3:1? ET: Because that's the exact ratio you said was ideal for attacking? Sun Tzu:... ET: With this ratio, we can clearly inflict three times the number of casualties without being overwhelmed!

ET player: why is Legion Brigade Matilda's unit, Cataphracts as William the Conqueror's, then Hussar as Roland's? ET: Yes

Yeah like in GOG3 Battle of Singapore or EW6: 1804 Russian Campaign (or pretty much anything in 1804)

Yesterday's SMBC: Sounds like me on the Easytech discord. These guys hate WC3 Bai and me discussing alternatives to Konev.
