the danes are a *Auto corrected* to deal with. I now fighting a defensive war against all of my neighbors. Fighting Middle Francia, East Francia, Kingdom of Denmark, and the Vikings simultaneously. This is what I get for trying this as my first viking age conquest while not having completed chapter 3/4

Thanks, but I already beat it 2 days ago. I was able to kill off their spam and push back. I started to defend around turn 21 and was finally on the offensive again by turn 45 when I took Cologne. |

Held up the Danes at the Hot Gates Hamburg while preparing a fleet for a naval counterattack against southern Sweden and invading East Francia via Bradenburg.
Quite slow because of the earlier lack of troops and resources, but a good way to observe trends on the British Isles.
Using the Fabian strategy with a fast gen like Belisarius allows for the enemy's front line bases to be taken. Lost Mecklenburg due to fierce attacks, but recovered it after the Danish-Viking forces forced the East Francian forces away.

Also good you attack south german lands and since francia will go all out civil war you can use it as advantage |

Interestingly, the East Francia AI either plays poorly, the West Slavs AI play well or both. If East Francia's Rhine theatre collapses, the West Slavs will survive with Poznan alone.
Plus, if the West Slavs hold out, they can regenerate gens like all AIs do.
"The enemy of the enemy is my friend" works here if you want to undermine East Francia quite severely.
Another here thinks Hamburg should not be taken? If Hamburg falls, there's a chance the Danes will effectively rampage throughout East Francia.
