EW7's Stonewall Jackson. Very strong general with great skills and spectacular availability! Easy 5. His item being locked is very sad tho.

It was so easy to make many players happy with such a small gift, yet they made a wrong decision, imo.

How would you deploy his personal troops? I used one Scottish Longspearman, one Varangian Guard and one Viking Raider, IIRC.
Trying to set him apart from the more specialised Hadrada (and similar gens) while utilising his skills is the key to using him well.
A reliable last-stand man because inf is the cheapest and his inf skill fits the situation, and he possesses Recruitment.
His active skill is hard to use at times because the terrain our troops move on does not permit it. Any number of mobility equal to or fewer than 5 renders the skill useless unless the target ally uses a unit that reduces and/or refunds Attack/Movement mobility.

imo a 3 stars for belli, without his weapon and his skills are not that great.

Honestly, I'd give him a 4. A perfect secondary inf commander to Cnut/ Harald and you get him for free! Its a shame that his item is locked, but even so, getting a commander like him for free is a gem. If he wasn't free though, I'd give him a 3.

His strong point is reducing the cost of setting up every army by 25%. And he has the strength of a premium general. Maybe his weapon is locked so we don't see much of a significant power. 4 stars

5 stars. Very strong infantry cavalry hybrid with an amazing active. 4 out of 5 skills are excellent, and his stats are great too. I do wish he had an item, but that can be forgiven. Still not as good as Aetius, but super solid. Also, his price is great.

Dang, with the Proof of Honor this guy is probably the best non-IAP infantry general in the game. High stats, 4 fantastic skills, hits hard, has a great item. Honestly, with his weapon he is better than Cnut. Desperate Wager level four is just too good to pass up. In addition, even just at level five his unit with high morale should counter 100% of the time. I recommend putting him on a Legion Spearman with a Varangian and another infantry of your choice. I put another Legion Spearman on for bonus damage against Cavalry, the enemy of him, but he really doesn't need great units even because he has access to cheap units at a castle. So good.

After thinking it over, he is probably even the best inf gen in the game, IAPs included. Otto isn't great, you mainly get him for Teutons, Olga is first and foremost a Consul, Arthur is good, but he is too much of a hybrid to be the best infantry. Charlie has the same problem. Matilda is mediocre at best. Beowulf and Caesar give him a run for their money, but that Desperate Wager every 2 turns and maxed out skills cinches it for Belisarius. He is so good.

He is the only non-archer gen I have seen who counters almost as hard as he hits.

He will be the best gen you have at the start. However, unfortunately without his unique weapons he is bad in endgame. Desperate Wager lvl 2 basically does nothing most of the time. He gets beaten easily by generals like Harald and Cnut.

Narses is an Archer at his core, and in any case, he lacks an item, has a bad (as in low-leveled) active, Mediocre item, low title and rank, his skills are generally low-leveled, terrible unit... Need I go on?
