I’ve been having a hard time on beating stage 2 on the young achiever mission in El Cid’s hero legend (hard mode), whats the best way to beat it?

There is a little trick there. After taking the city all your enemies inside your territory will almost instantly loose all their units. Other than that is is about the quality of your troops and generals.   |

I’m having a problem on El Cids hero legend on stage one of rescue of Valencia on hard. They aren’t letting me place another general the green circle goes away just before the play button shows up and there’s no way for me to complete it with just El Cid.

I just spammed a few war drums and was able to complete it with just Cid |

stoic, what is the reward for completing EL Cid hero legend? (apart from getting access to the best f2p raid) And how much war drums are justified in order to push through the missions? I spent ~15 for the first half (up to the stage gambino mentioned) and Cid is on 3x lv7 Varangians.

I spent ~15 for the first half (up to the stage gambino mentioned) and Cid is on 3x lv7 Varangians. 10 fragments of Conquistadors, so that you will have 20 fragments in total after completing both hard and normal chapters. Usually I wouldn't advise to spend many drums in these chapters, but El Cid's campaign is an exception. His Raid is so good that f2p players should get access to it as soon as possible. So, all losses of drums are justified in this case. It is a sacrifice for the greater good. Besides, some chapters are relatively easy.
