Seems okay, not as good as Barbarossa or Alfred, but okay. Inches out ahead of Simeon. The rank is terrible unless you are swimming in Heraldry, in which case it's a godsend. Bad Active. All in all, okay. 3 stars. I would buy Alexios and Khalid over him though. Worth buying for the Hero Legend and nothing else.

He has the same 2 best skills for cavalry that Richard Has, unique units, emperor title, a good amount of cavalry points and he would be better than the old Basil on Cavalry for sure. On triple cataphracts is godly for us f2p players (and with triple Templars if they will improve their fragments collection).
Plus he has hero legends.

not looking good to me. i already use matilda of boulogne as my 2nd cav general.
(deploy saladin and alfred/robin/cnut)
just 3 turn calmness is great skill if u have saladin/robin type of op actives. depends on amount of units in the map, i use theodora with matilda too. value of reseting actives is off the chart to me.
i don't have space for him, since can't get his item.

Without the unique item he is just mediocre cavalry general. It’s a matter of which unit you give to him  Most of the time you’ll need a high level of cav points, 2 good cav skills for damage and a high level mercenary (then even my granma would be strong on lvl15 Templars/Cataphracts) . Baldwin still remains the fourth best F2P cav gen for me and he still maintain his purpose. If I have to spend 2400 and so medals I must find a decent role for him. |
