Is su dingfang worth it. He is east gid of war I'm not sure how to use him, but he's the kind you can use as a meat shield with high counterattack capability on. Use his active + Narses' active and he'll soak up dmg while crippling enemy formations. I think a 200+ point Timur or most gold / platinum archers with the same ranged points on 3× ranged cav can replicate this (perhaps to even better effect).

Right now for optimal experience I believe PoH+Saladin+Edward should be the first pick the purchase. PoH and Saladin bonuses are already discussed here, these let you gain more than double the reward for the same gameplay. Edward on the other hand enables 3gem combos, a huge almost must boost for all generals(end game). And he is also a very strong archery general for most of the game, idk why hes not popular though. Longbowman+Fire Longbowman+MR/IBC huge damage output. I know t5 longbowman is not OP but they are much easier to upgrade and have useful talent. For starters Id again go with this order.

And then +charlemagne to obtain all Honor rewards up to stage65. Not a must again but really a huge boost for progress. Not to mention hes a very very useful general in campaign and conquest.
For the rest I really dont find anything valuable. Maybe su dingfang would have been nice if territory expedition had better resources.
