So we still don't have a solution? There isn't one. It's guests who technichally have the power to do whatever they want without consequences. nope, saltin can track the ip of them and ban them

So there is a solution.. But we favour growth above spam.. Good argument.. But the statement no solution is not true

So there is a solution.. But we favour growth above spam.. Good argument.. But the statement no solution is not true The solution that you presented isn't a good one. Banning guests... not good. Like Napoleon Bonaparte said, all of us came here as guests and it's the feedback and responses that guests get from us that makes them register.

We could set aside a specific forum for guests to post in. I have seen this in other forums. Granted it might hurt the growth anyhow... :/

Granted it might hurt the growth anyhow... :/ a large proportion of our membership comes as guests, if you guys have seen the desktop version home page then in the forum statistics it displays 700-800 guests pouring in daily, if we make a separate forum for them its gonna cause chaos here

It's simple though don't allow any guests with anything to do with Mountbatten in the name since they have been causing the most annoyance That is very biased. You cannot enforce a rule on one person only and let everybody else run free. sorry, I mean no disrespect. I'm just pointing out that your accidental cult has been causing a lot of issues on the forum

I'm just pointing out that your accidental cult has been causing a lot of issues on the forum Yes but to make a rule specific to people who like me or want my name in their username isn't fair. If we do your solution, then NONE of the forum members can be made, not just me.

There are two separate issues here relating to guests, one has to do with some guests grossly violating our community rules with things like advertisements, spam, illegal material, racism ect and the other has to do with threads that are not in violation but because of a particular content may simply be annoying to the general membership. For case one (rule breaking) there are all kind of tools available to the staff including ban by ip or ban by global registration and also simply deleting all the material posted asap.
For the second issue (annoying posts) moderators cannot censor, muzzle, shut off and delete threads or posts simply because we find the topics boring or uninteresting. In these cases the community itself must take action by not responding to such threads and instead start new more fun more interesting, more entertaining, more "likeable" threads. Threads do not have a life of their own, members, you me and everyone else that post in such thread bring life to them and bump them back up to the top of the list, threads naturally die and disapear to the back pages when the members do not post in them.
If you find a thread or a post offensive or questionable make sure to report it stating the reason, rest assure the staff will investigate and take action if necessary but if a thread is just annoying (but does not break any rules) the best course of action is to ignore it and post on thread you find more appealing (or start a new topic on your own).Remember people have completely different taste, what appeals to you maybe super boring to someone else. For example the RP wars are huge fun to about half the membership while the other half never read or post in such threads as they instead enjoy posting in conquests ect...Different posters, different taste.
Tldr: Having said that,in the future some guest thread may be deleted/locked if these threads border the spam line.
There is also a possibility limiting guests to posting only to certain boards or to having guest posts appear in the forum only after a mod approves them, not forcing them to register more like their posts can be put on quarantine ,but I rather not do these things for now.
