So the community seems to believe that the 5% DMG increase for units (by combination of gems) will be stacked upon the 10% or 20% you may have from the unique weapon. But will these 5% only apply for the specific unit within a mixed legion, or will it have legion effect and boost the two other units as well (like the 10% or 20% does)? The description is the same as for the weapon. I suppose the effect is for the whole legion.

What do You mean under "5% unique weapon bonus"? It is either 10% or 20% from weapon. But in case You mean whether these bonuses (weapon and gems) stack or not.. I am pretty sure it stacks. In case You mean whether 2 same gems bonuses in different items.. I am sure it is not. Gems provide either skill or stat bonus. Bonus You are talking about (gems set) normally gives You skill which in its turn gives You bonus. So second same set won't improve acquired skill. It will be Lvl1 anyway. So I suppose same mechanic will be used for units' buff system by gems. As their new Feedback report says high level gems will unlock new levels of obtainable skills. Back to farm gems as well as units Right now lvl5 gems give nothing additional Let's hope they are going to implement it. I tried with Cloud save to increase Goodwill Ambassador level 2 to level 3 with two lvl5 gems specific set. No effect

I'm not sure gems are fully working, at least not visually.
If I give El Cid a gem combination that increases the level of Master Shooter by 1. But as he had his skill already at level 4, nothing happened (because I guess its capped at 4, but...) then I removed the bow that raised this skill by 1. Now the skill is lvl 3 and not 4. Even though its a base 2 + 1 from unique weapon + 1 from runes, it still shows 3 on his profile, and when I go deeper into his stat info, it shows this skill as being apart. Not sure what's going on here, but tomorrow I think I can test it, will use Basil for the test, with Melee Infantry Expert, as his skill should negate randomness from attack range.
Btw, I will be adding the skills added with the latest patch to this list this week. I'll also make a small mention on runes, as I don't know much yet and don't like more guesses.

My theory is that it is impossible to improve with gems skills a general already has. It is possible only to add new skills a general doesn't have. For example, if a general doesn't have a "Master shooter" skill and we unlock it through gems - this general has now a "Master Shooter" skill lvl 1 (if ET are true to their word it will be possible to improve this skill eventually).

Yes ur right, you cant upgrade existing skill, you can just add a new one. Checked it on Justinian in conquests with lobbist master.

Confirmed in combat with Basil II. In all I activated his skill to fix his final damage output. His squad is made of 2 Shield Swordsmen and 1 Archer.
Only having his unique weapon, did 3 tests each. His "Melee Infantry Expert" level is 3. With 2 level 2 rune infantry capability and 1 level 1 morale, it gives a point on Melee Infantry Expert. Damage done on the 3 tests 402.
With 2 level 2 rune infantry capability only, it gives a damage bonus when using Legion Brigade, but we're not using mercenaries at all, so shouldn't matter. Damage done of the 3 tests 402.
Removed runes and gave him a green +15 weapon (so has 1 infantry capability less overall, no extra skills at all) Damage done of the 3 tests 402.
Test make sense as that extra capability point raises it from 110 to 111, meaning no stat increase for infantry (it gives 1 extra attack every 2 capacity points, and 1 extra defense every 3)
So along with zabadanov's consul test, we can confirm this crap doesn't work if the general already has that existing skill. What a pity.

Ralyks, but that is exactly what is written in the description. You can ACQUIRE the skill at lvl1 with the gems, no to improve it. I have no idea what made You think You can improve the existing skill. That is what they specified in the previous questionary answers. They are only planning to implement the skill improvement with max level gems.

Did an extra test to see if these skills are actually being applied using again Basil, as it proved to be a reliable test.
Same test. Instead I'm adding him 3 different lvl 2 runes, 1 cavalry, 1 infantry and 1 ranged. This gives "Master Swordsman" which is a skill he doesn't have and should raise the damage of both Swordsmen. Damage on all 3 tests were 417.
Then removed all inlay and gave him a green +8 bow and a green +8 sword. Damage on all 3 tests were 399.
So runes stats and combinations do indeed work, with the notable exception of when the general already has the skill.
Also, if you're wondering why it was 399 instead of 402, its because before it was +16 infantry, now it was +8 infantry and +8 archery, and there were 2 infantry, so makes sense. Without stat bonuses, damage is 390 if you're wondering.

I just wished it worked to raise existing skills (which will normally be the best on the generals you're making these combinations in). It would be even better if it could raise the cap to level 5 this way on a single skill, changing the green value (meaning that value can be changed) that doesn't change on the previous 4 levels for a bunch of skills.
But w/e, I guess we'll have to wait longer for that.

It is really bad we don't have an information window with all effects of the gems displayed. For example, we can unlock Infantry tactician skill with gems And we have an item that can increase the level of the skill by 1. I am pretty sure the effects do not stack up at the moment, but I really see no reason why they shouldn't.

The level of The Skills of the generals increase only lvl 5 gems , And as You said There are items like Imperial Spired Helmets that can increase The level of one skill , so The Skills The gems give don't help us too much .

They are not game-changing, that's for sure. But since we inlay gems anyway it is good to have a bonus here and there. I think that cavalry generals will profit most from using gems because two best skills for cavalry generals are acquired with gems we will use for cavalry anyway. Here is an example of Charging cavalry expert skill Two gems with cavalry points and one with damage reduction. Quite logical, imo.

Or Cavalry tactician skill (Alfred doesn't have it, for example) Two cavalry points gems and one gem with damage increase. Logical too. It is strange why do we need gems with administration points when acquiring talents for range generals.

Question on UnderdogStrategy skill.
Skill description says in Eng as follows
"When the number of our legion troops is less than the enemy's..."
Does it means the skill triggers based on stack number (e.g 2 stack vs 3 stack enemy), or the legions total health (e.g 3 charge cav @1050hp vs 2 def. infantry @1100hp)?
Have anyone experiment on this? Thanks.
