Don't want to create a separate thread. I assume it will take a month or more for the next update so my question is: what to spend my souls for. I have Templars, MR and Mamluks at lvl12 Whether I throw everything to up some of these or I have just unlocked chinese melee infantry unit. I can throw everything to improve them, to make my Inf gens super mobile. I can buy somewhat like 65 fragments. Ideas? I really don't understand why Chinese Two-handed swordsmen can charge while European can't 😕, but they seem to be the best melee Infantry unit at the moment. Excellent addition to legions of Beowulf, El-Cid (equipped with Nordic helmet) and other Infantry generals. But to unlock and to upgrade Jet Black cavalry is also a possible way to spend your war souls and medals. Together with Templars they are quite devastating offensive force. The third way is to upgrade 3 ranged cavalry units: Mamluks/MR/IBC. I think all these ways are solid. Yeah, I was also thinking about Jet Black. But I found myself almost completely avoiding charge cav. I have Richard and he is so broken I just don't use him. In case he would have another active he would be less broken. But with killing one enemy and disabling another one he is almost invincible if You place him the right way.

Khan/Subutai have nice actives, Su Dingfang too Desperate wager is good. The rest are either OK or even a trash.

Focus first on raising your most used troop to lvl 15, that its up to where lvl ups do give good value. Lvl 16 & onwards give less for more shards and gold cost, so only go for it if you have spare gold and shards. Out of those 3 troops, I'd go for Templars first if you have them all similarly leveled.

Nah, my archer cav units are lvl12. I could go up to 14-15 lvl with my souls but stats increase is insignificant. Almost no difference. And with Hendao lvl0 I can't use them, but lvl8 are same strong as Nordic Heavy axeman lvl18 for example. I feel like infantry way is better.

You have already some archer units, but they are not the best ones. Why not to continue boost your archer generals and upgrade IBC or Dragoons? In comparison with Hengdao, Dragoons provide significantly more dmg.

And in conquests mobile legions are far more beneficial. Eventually I will upgrade most of the units, maybe even every, so it is more the question of priority particularly right now.

Fun fact : Being on the receiving end of his skill a lot, having Boyars (and surviving Richard's attack(s)) will give 1 point of mobility instead of 0 on the next turn.

Interception has a weak point. if you add to the unit any war gear with +1 mobility, this unit can attach next turn (once) even after interception. And usually this attack is a death for Richard, especially if it’s an archer unit with 3lvl hammer.

Is this a new feature after the update, or is this guy cheating? He has 3 level 5 gems (purple+red+green) and it gives him +10% dmg to teutonic knights.

They have most likely implemented their planned update that max lvl gems not only provides lvl1 appropriate skill (like simple gems set) but also increase the skill level at the same time. So I assume it is neither bug nor cheating.

You still can't increase the level of the existing skill. But with max gems You now receive not lvl1 additional skill, but lvl2 additional skill. I tried it with Justinian Lobbyst (he already has Lobbyst lvl2) I gave him max gems for Lobbyst and it says Acquired skill Lobbyst lvl2. Gems do not take into account what skills You already have. If I see it correctly lvl4 gems can already provide with lvl2 of new acquired skill.
