The problem with Timur that he is archer, and you don't need archers at all. There is always a better general than any archer.

One of the best. like el cid. hybrid archer. el cid is for infantry. timur is for cavalry. archers have low defence unlike infantry and cavalry units. that is why they are defeated easily. but if used correctly can defeat almost any units expect with dodge skill. like el cid with max damage items defeats you like nothing. for archers maximum damage with gems is efficient. reduce damage is not tested and maybe not worth because low defence. cnut is good to have reduce damage with gems because i fight it with lvl 3 gem damage reduction and needed many units to defeat it. |

 Yes, defence gems are quite good 🤣 Timur has no defence or charge bonuses, so, he is maximum 4*. Alfred (defence) and Edward I (charge) are more better, not saying about IAP generals. |

He is The most powerfull cavarely archers general , His weapon is f2p , He have hero legend good Skills and powerfull unit 5/5 .

Of all the hero legends I have played through, his was my favorite. Also gives 40 fragments of Imperial Bow Cavalry instead of the usual 20. |

These are just random pictures of legions without generals. Can you make a video with strong opponent in battle mode? Because from my experience Timur dies from 1 charge and needs several attacks to kill someone.
Try to hit Su Dingfang under active skill, or generals with defence gems, or archers under tower with wonder bonuses. So many cases when Timur is bad. Defensive generals are more better in this game, they never die and deal a lot of damage.

In case You are experienced with ET games You won't create a situation when Your glass Canon is under charge attack or simply outnumbered. The reasons You provide are also valid for gens like Su. His active skill is OP. But next turn he is just a generic weakling, way too squishy to act as a meatshield. |

Here is Timur against lvl 14 reinforced Mamlukes (attacks and counterattacks)    Here is Timur only counterattacks 3 legions with lvl 15 troops       And my Timur is still "in-progress" general with lvl 9 troops. 
 I don't think anyone really needs any "proofs" that Timur is an excellent general. Probably the best f2p general in the game. All these "random" pics are made from hard campaigns with mostly lvl 15 troops. I don't know what you are doing with your Timur, but possibly it is something inappropriate  And andrei is right about the proper use of a general. Bruce Li was asked once: "What will you do if a man suddenly attacks you from behind with a knife. The answer was: "Well, probably the same thing as any other person will do... Die" |

but Timur just annihilated lvl 15 Fire bowmen lead by a solid general
