There are a few variants of DMG formula in different threads, but I think such important topics deserve a thread of their own.
I believe this one is the one presumed to be correct:
-The damage is equal to attack * (troops / 133) ^ 0.5 * 75 / (75 + defense) * unit reduction * other kinds of damage bonus/reductions.
Please correct me if I am wrong or confirm if I am right. Thank you.

Please correct me if I am wrong or confirm if I am right. Thank you. It's correct on a general level but the devil's in the details. (and there are always updates which can potentially change something) For example when looking at gem/equipment combinations, it's often better to test rather than simulate with the formula. But once a sub-mechanic is found out, it can be integrated into the formula and will contribute to a better understanding.

What is ‘unit reduction’? "unit reduction * other kinds of damage bonus/reductions"
this term is not very specific. It could be replaced by "multipliers" all together or we could differentiate between sources that provide reduction such as the unit itself (hidden & visible), auras, war gear, the general's stats and title, his skills (active & passive), his equipment, the gems, policy, bond, wonders, territory bonus, etc
