Anyone knows which expedition give u the sake? Kimotsuki's sweep gives sake, although that's assuming you have cleared it for the week already and that you're willing to use a precious sweep for it instead of on a library general. My recommendation instead is patience, it'll appear in the coin shop which is an amazing deal and of course every week the expeditions reset where you can collect more hime items. And you have a chance of getting a daily mission which gives you hime items as well. Or if you want to be proactive, there's challenge conquests out there that can give upwards to 20 sake, so there's that too.

Adding on: There's also a chance to get it for clearing battles in Expedition. If you luck out, the coin shop also has it, but Hime items are rare.
I find the Cuisine to be the least often to show up, followed by Tea Wares.

I was thinking about which gear suits which generals the best and stumbled upon the curious question, or rather two questions.
1) What does " +1 cav/inf/arch/war gear adaptability" exactly mean? When commanding a corresponding troop, do your generals get a set percent of attack for each adaptability point, or what happens?
2) What will adding another point do, if your general already has the maximum adaptability? Will it be nullified or add an invisible extra adaptability? For example if you equip Tokugawa (5/5 arch adaptability) with maxed Ninety-nine Caddy (+1 arch adaptability)

For example if you equip Tokugawa (5/5 arch adaptability) with maxed Ninety-nine Caddy (+1 arch adaptability) I think it might be possible to work out the first question with a lot of testing, but I really don’t want to do that. But the second one doesn’t take that much effort to figure out. Especially if you know that crits always do the same damage without variance. Look at this: The units are in a different position so it’s two different shots. But the damage is exactly the same. I’m just gonna take for granted that the differences seen also applies to regular hits so I don’t have to make 20 shots or something per test. So I just tested with Mitsuhide and Shigehide with and without a lv9 Geki-Ryu Hojutsu. Those 500+ crits is with it, and the ~400 is without. Mitsuhide’s crit got a much bigger increase from Hojutsu than Shigehide did. So yeah, +1 adapt is probably completely wasted on a 5 adapt guy.

So I tried figuring out how much each adapt point affects damage, but stumbled into something odd. Tadatsugu did MORE damage despite everything else being equal except for 1 less teppo adapt! (Or so I thought) I think this is because, like with cav adapt affecting mounted archers/teppo, every foot unit gets affected by infantry adapt! This isn’t really that meaningful since the vast majority of the teppo/archer gens you’re going to use have atleast 3 inf. And even if they have something like 4 inf and 1 cav (like Ieyasu) they still do better on a Mounted Archer because that unit is just way better than a Marksman. But it’s an interesting discovery anyway, and probably yet another reason why I’ve found Tanegashina Tokitaka less effective than his extreme teppo focus would suggest.

That's really crazy to think, cavalry stars affect the mounted units of archer and teppo, and infantry stars affect everything else. No wonder why when I was relying on him I felt he was underperforming a bit. I do have a question for you though, we know that active skills like Keiji's Duel is exclusive to infantry and cavalry and does not work on other units. But if adaptability stars work for any unit that has their feet on the ground, would that mean non-active skills like Formation Mastery work for all foot units or just those in the subcategory of infantry? The wording in this game blends the distinction between "infantry" and "foot unit" if the adaptability stars transfer, as the description says it applies when leading infantry, and in no other ET game does stars from one category affect units in other categories (with the big exception of movement stars which are unrelated to damage). I have a feeling Formation Mastery only works for unmounted units with a sword or a naginata in their hands, but then again I thought infantry adaptability had those same constraints.

It probably doesn’t work if you’ve got a gun or a bow: My Sakon has 1 more valor than my Tadatsugu, which is why he’s doing 1 more damage. Tadatsugu should do more damage than Sakon here if Formation Mastery kicked in. So yeah, funky ideas like Katsuie on a mounted archer and Kanbei on teppo probably isn’t worthwhile.

Well, actually it might be. Here he’s doing the exact same damage with a lv15 Teppo Ashigaru as he’s doing on a lv14 Elite Samurai, which is way cheaper. But one thing testing with crit fails to account for is the variance in damage that you’ll have on normal hits. And the minimum damage is WAY lower on the Teppo Ashigaru than the Elite Samurai. Also the Swordmaster is still considerably stronger than the Elite Samurai so it might still be better to do Kanbei on that one, if you’re playing a faction with those.

Damage formula is - as always in EasyTech games - a bit complicated.
This is what is on discord accepted as close to the truth.
----
(1.1) Key revision: Adaptability exact values have been found, along with compound values. Adaptability affects the upper and lower % of the damage range. There is a difference between the effect of adaptability on inf and cav, compared to war gears, muskets, archers and ships. The standard (primary) adaptability is: 5 - 50% 4 - 35% 3 - 22% 2 - 12% 1 - 5% For inf and cav, the adaptability % damage increase recieved is 100%. (Thus, a cav gen with 5 adapt will have 50% more dmg) For the rest of the unit types, both the primary and secondary stats will take effect, if the troop is a compound unit (ie, mounted archer - primary archer, secondary cav) The formula is 80% x (primary adapt) + 50% x (secondary adapt) Simply put: Non-compound unit adaptability dmg bonus is: (Primary) 5 - 40% 4 - 28% 3 - 17% 2 - 9% 1 - 4%.
Then, if the unit is compound, simply add the following % value onto the primary adapt: (Secondary) 5 - 25% 4 - 17% 3 - 11% 2 - 6% 1 - 2% Thus, ieyatsu on a mounted archer will have - 40% + 2% = 42% dmg bonus from adaptability. Adapted, courtesy of the Tieba crackheads.
Clarification: The adaptability provides a bonus onto the unit raw damage (from the formula), and does not include all the unit's skills

Do we know how defense reduces damage? That tends to differ from game to game and often makes it a lot more complicated to predict what kind of damage you're going to do.
I also assume every single artillery unit also counts as an infantry unit, and the actual unit on the ship counts as the secondary unit, right?

Sengoku - is a very interesting historical period, bit except for some movie fragments I haven't seen much about the "concept" of the game
