RUN. If you like Sengoku go play Nobunaga's Ambition. If you want to play good ET games then go back to pre-EW7 (not including GoG2) games. Don't torture yourself (and/or your wallet) with this piece of gacha junk. Edit: And I saw hacks already. Isn't that fun. That bad?

Perhaps permanently?

Bruuuuh, there's a gacha in this game, what the hell? Also no more Original General like in GC: Rome

Don't really care that it's gacha or not (though I don't think it's a good thing, ET has gotten a lot more aggressive with their IAP practices). Though I think I might like this one more than EW:7. That game had a pile of mechanics and level design quirks I really didn't like.
Most likely not going to enjoy doing conquest though just looking at the tutorial though. They just don't seem to get that the issue with conquest isn't that it isn't realistic enough with diplomacy or whatever, but rather that you win or lose in like 5-10 turns in and then have to do a 30-70 or so turn cleanup depending on the difficulty which takes hours to do. (Very common issue in strategy games) That wouldn't be so bad if we played conquest to have some casual fun conquering stuff, like you mostly do with the older games because of the low amount of achievements, but they incentivize us to play it so much in the last two games that we only care about winning.

Bruuuuh, there's a gacha in this game, what the hell? Also no more Original General like in GC: Rome What's the gacha aspect like? Just like the fragments for upgrading units in EW7 or is it even worse? It's kinda like EW7, but for generals. You can't get IAP gen frags if you don't have them. You need to get 30 to unlock someone and then use them, then you need 30 (and the cost might increase later) to rank them up, which I think are the stars on their stat screens. You can choose to roll 10 times or 1, and just like EW7 it's just better to roll 10 because you're guaranteed at least one purple. Once you roll 100 times, you're guaranteed a gold. Getting the currency to roll seems really hard. Like the achievements all give like 1-4 or so, and that's for stuff like completing a chapter of the campaign and stuff, and you need to shell out 600 of the medal resource to get 10 of them, which is roughly what you start with and daily missions give like 5 or so each. On the flipside instead of getting 1 fragment per roll, you get like 20-28-ish for each. So each roll is really impactful, or atleast in the early game. I've unlocked like 2 purples already and a bunch of lesser guys that I'll probably phase out once the lineup improves. You can't recycle frags for guys you don't want, but you get another resource for each roll you do which you can spend on specific golds and purples. 10 for golds and 5 for purples. This is the thing that sucks the most since if you want a specific gold you'll have to roll 300 times just to get their base version if you don't get lucky, while you'll pile on useless greens and blues that will mostly get phased out as your lineup improves.

Wooooow. Thx all of you for sharing all this. I will definitely download it once android is out if only to see the madness with my own eyes. Can it rly be that bad though? If so: 1. will either drop it like blueberry says 2. Wait 6-12 months to see if rewards increase dramatically or if they make it less grindy after fan community getting upset

If so: 1. will either drop it like blueberry says 2. Wait 6-12 months to see if rewards increase dramatically or if they make it less grindy after fan community getting upset I’ll drop it if it starts doing ridiculously stupid things in the campaign like in EW7. That game isn’t that grindy compared to some others (and the daily grinds aren’t super painful to do either). And I really didn’t mind the gacha because almost every unit was still kind of desirable to upgrade, and you still could recycle the frags you didn’t want. I dropped it mostly because I found most of the levels either mindlessly boring or incredibly frustrating. And that’s because a lot of the difficulty was because of absurd nonsense. I really just didn’t want to progress in that game at all. I’ve already seen «stealth» levels in Shogun, so that doesn’t bode well. It’s probably more thematically appropriate here than in EW7, but it still doesn’t really work in this kind of strategy game. And the gacha is significantly more problematic because you can’t recycle (for now, hopefully in the future), and there seems to be much less of a benefit for getting the smaller, more abundant prizes.

In EW7 there is a trick to get that what you like (to a certain extent, of course). We can't control first 10 fragments no matter what. But we can control next 10 fragments! So, usually it is necessary to open 20 fragments not just 10. If you don't like what you have, just reload. Here is an example My first 10 fragments (mostly trash, but I can't do anything about it) My next 10 fragments (these are always under my control) Not that bad, but I want better so... I just reload to fight another day Is it possible to do it in GCS?

It’s a LOT of playing to just get 10 rolls, so I’ll just stick with what I get. The RNG hasn’t been too friendly to me since the two purples I’ve got are both musketeers and I’d really like to get some archers and artillery, but oh well.

Right speaking of which, you get these two for free. At the start, and Maeda gets fragments throughout the battlepass. Hideyoshi is the only person in the game who currently has this, not even the IAPs have this yet. You have to get 50 cities (and I’m at like 40 right now) to unlock it. He’s basically the main character of the game as it is. Grinding Hideyoshis frags won’t be as terrible since you get a couple daily missions that give you specific frags for the general you want, and his is definetly the highest value since he’s gold. These two are going to go far together.

Just stats. As per usual for ET, they’re as vague as possible about it. I can’t see if it allows get to 6 because I need him at rank 4 which will take ages.
