trying to get the ribbons from events, mainly the red ones for extra damage. I'm not sure if my current lineup is strong enough although it might be, my tech is fully maxed btw I have guderian near max, rommel and rokko 3/4 max, konev near max, leeb unupgraded, arnold, hornet, donitz half upgraded with rumour, hornet unupgraded, messe unupgraded
I have 2.5k medals, and i can still get like 3k from hard modern war + remaining exercise missions, and by the time i complete those, i can probably get 2k medals from invasions + ads, i get roughly 230-250 medals a day. so in total i should have near 7-8k medals, whats the best way to spend these medals because once i do the above, i would have gotten all medals from campaign/conquests, only source left is invasions, so i want to have a strong enough general lineup to complete events easily.
I was thinking of buying list as my 4th tank gen but he costs a lot of medals to upgrade, i might just upgrade to 5 tank stars to save 800 for 6th star, and i might need to buy an infantry gen for warzone, or 2 inf gens, not sure which
i don't think i need to get a 2nd navy gen as i have horton + donitz, horton should be good enough
i dont know how important dowding is for events/warzone for his eco boost, if i do get him, should i sell arnold? i think i might as well sell messe too as i never use him but i dont know if he will be useful at all in warzone if i dont plan on upgrading him.

Hornet who? Do you mean Horton? Messe is weak for event so you really should trade him for better gen, you can buy Montgomery for immediate usability, but List would be better at cracking cities than him when maxed out. Also, I think you should get yourself one or two dedicated infantry generals, buy Yamashita or MacArthur if you can spare some medals but Clark is fine too for a smaller budget.

i never use messe, i just keep him in case i need him for rumour, and yes i mean horton.
I should probably buy an inf general but should i get that before list?

Preferably yes, since infantry generals are for cracking fortress (on mechanized infantry) and armors (on motorized infantry), they can somehow do List’s job in short run but as long as you don’t buy IAP generals, List or Montgomery will still be needed as the 3rd tank general. As for rumor inducers, I use Dowding to supplement Arnold and Leeb.

Montgomery is also better than Roko in anti armors since he has Plain Fighting and Crossfire to supplement the generally well favored Armor Assault and Panzer Leader, while Roko could only have one of either Inspiration, Rumor or Crossfire after getting Armor Assault.

Rokko has aa pl and blitz 3 most important tank skills that mont doesn’t have and I switch out medals a lot between generals do he benefits from all 3 medals. I agree list has better potential but much more expensive. Rokko is still worth getting as he is 4th best tank gen and u need like 4 or 5 for warzone

As for Morty, the lack of Blitz is not necessary a big minus because he has 4 damage buff skills and PF, AA and PL have medals, meaning that he will deal more damage than Roko with Blitz in editable skill slots most of the time, so I would say Roko is a bit meh for 4th tank general.

Morty has plain fighting which is decent but counter attack is trash. if i only need 3 tank gens, list would be my third but i need atleast 4-5, u can argue that mont can be 5th tank gen if you think he is better than graziani which i do, graziani only has machinist which is ok, the rest of the skills are bad because tanks get -20% damage on mountains so his mountain skill is useless and ace forces is meh because tanks can hit again after killing enemy so it's easier for them to get higher rank

Currently, defense events (three) rely a lot on bunker tech and getting more resources to build a lot of them. That's why I'd put Dowding on the shopping list. Beating the (one) offensive event requires a large enough team with a certain firepower and survivability. Getting more air strikes or building stronger units sooner doesn't hurt either. A second infantry general is not necessary. Once you have Yamashita (with explosives, great soldier and skill boosting medals), there is only the war zone argument. But thanks to power creep, Roko or Konev can serve as 2nd inf for the few missions where we don't get proper tank and artillery units. Covering navy with Donitz and Horton is absolutely enough, you can always improve their skills or HP when you thinks you need a little more from them. I'd only sell Arnold for a better air general or if you think you need a 5th/6th tank general for war zone. Some people run eco expert on him nowadays. My recommendation for 4th tanker (with a tight budget) is Monty because List is simply too expensive. Together with combat medic and him starting as major general he can afford to not have blitzkrieg. Crossfire is one of the most useful skills for war zone.

Still Grazianis skillset is pretty mid although his machinist is nice to pair up with the medal then again we got the medic unit

Frontier (=choosing Yamashita) will take more time but give you the pershing elite unit (along with great soldier, navy and air force medal) which is more or less a cheaper super tank that can be recruited from lv1 industry cities, thus making UN hard and biographies easier. Prioritizing campaign (aka Dowding, since Yamashita won't be much help against terrorists) and exercises might be more difficult but they give medals so that you will sooner be able to get them both.
And if you like, you can use this guide I made some years ago (with a similar but by today's standards weaker team) as inspiration
