Since we don't have any special board for discussing GCS I decided to create a thread here. Moderators, feel free to transfer it to appropriate board
So, we are trying to find our way through GCS maze, making mistakes and discovering better strategies.
Here are some advices worth of be followed, imo.
nikomachos: "I restarted 5 times, deinstalling, reinstalling the game and absentmindedly going trough the tutorial.
But what i have to show for now is both mitsuhide and motonoari in those first 5 draws".
My commentary: I restarted the game following Nikomachos' advice and got one of the best (if not the best) archers of the game. So, my opinion, if you have started the game only recently - don't hesitate to restart it (if you get little to nothing out of your first 40 summons).
SolidLight: "Well don’t blow your ban-kin on stupid *Auto Corrected* like coins, that’s a pretty obvious one. I’m even hesistant about spending them on Magetama since 10 of them costs so much. The only thing I’ve spent any on is the Elite Samurai unit for Hideyoshi since it’s his specialized unit, whatever that means".
My commentary: I fully agree that the best way to spend your ban-kin on other things than elite units from IAP shop and, possibly, Magetama at the start of the game.
There are at least 2 superb units and Heavy cavalry is a special unit of a general we all almost certainly have, namely Maeda
SolidLight: "Also, you really want to get through Tenkabito fast. You need to get a pile of cities to level up your Tenshu (basically your castle), and when you level up your Tenshu you get more daily missions, and some of them give you frags for generals of your choice, as long as you have them".
My commentary: since Tenkabito is a clone mode of Empire mode of EW5, the main principle remains the same: unlock as many daily missions as possible as soon as possible.
balthazar: "Second suggestion I would make is about library. If you are unlucky with the purple generals like me you should spend exchange items(Blue flames) to obtain generals who have a chapter in library. These give you tons of upgrade material and possibly unlocks a special unit as well".
My commentary: At the start of the game it was virtually impossible to tell precisely what priorities a player should set. Now it is more or less clear. And it is to some extent similar to what we had in EW7. Namely: generals with a special chapter are always a good option to get. It is true in GCS as well. And special chapters in our library is a better place for sweeps that other places, as SolidLight pointed out. So, even if you don't have Mori or Hoje (or IAP generals with special chapters), then the next best option is to get purple generals with their special chapters and farm their fragments alongside other rewards by sweeping it.
If you feel an urgent need for getting gold (and, believe me, you'll need it )
Don't do these things:
1. Don't buy gold in the VIP shop.
2. Don't sell these things
You may:
1. Sell experience scrolls. We have plenty of these and since our generals grow naturally when they fight, we don't need them that often.
2. Sell items needed for creating and upgrading purple armor and weapons
Be careful though, don't sell resources needed for upgrade of healing items.
