Question, I got Hideyoshi, Tokugawa, and Hoju, is it worth going for gold gens or saving up ban ki for units?
Also am confused as to what is the point of Specialized Units. I get the give you bonus stats but is that it?

I get the give you bonus stats but is that it? You won't get any bonus stats. nikomachos' assumption is that a general when leading his specialized unit gets some sort of damage bonus. We can't say anything more than that at the moment. Concerning generals I think that you have excellent names and fragments of one of them (Hojo) you can farm after completing his chapter in the library. You should definitely buy Destroyer of Provinces for him, horse Archers for Tokugawa and Elite Samurais for Hideyoshi. |

But considering I have a good unit on him, he's getting DoP last
I'm trying to get Elite for Hideyoshi as he's mounted cam be acquired via Mori, who I plan to get

balthazar I don't have neither Mortar nor DoP at the moment. But by the looks of it DoP has better special abilities. Since enemies are usually grouped together Spanish is a good way to weaken them before your main forces attack. But, of course, if Mortar is unlocked it's possible to wait with DoP purchase until there is another capable Artillery general on the horizon.

There are only 2-3 capable Artillery generals in the game. And surprisingly Hojo is easier to get and to upgrade than Sorin. It is virtually impossible to say "who and when", but there definitely will be more of them... I wish I had Chosokabe, I am even ready to trade Tokugawa for Chosokabe + Hojo |

Seeing that majority of players has a better roster of generals than I have (well probably only SolidLight was more unlucky than me in first 100 summons ) I decided to follow my own advice And here we go... That's what I call a perfect f2p start I'd argue that I have a better start: Sorin, Shigehide, Motochika, Motonari, Yoshihisa. No Ujiyasu but good enough. |

I got Sorin among other fragments as well, so now I have two best Artillery guys  |
